That's the prob. not enuff dev from japan are making a lot of quality and polised games. I must admit, japanese games are the most polished compare to their western counterparts. Their giving high value production games but its seems to be backfired with delays.

the way i see it...Japanese developers can't really keep up with the technology.

Back in the 16 bit and 32 bit era where games are much more simple to make, they manage to survive and did very well.  But since then, the just couldn't keep up anymore.

Nintendo was THE console. But as i stated, its like they are stuck in 1998.

nowadays, they shouldn't polish so hard until perfection, get the game out, then later patch it la with update. It's not like we live in an offline world anymore where we have to tiup2 n jilat2 when there's bug in the game smile.gif

I would stop gaming if Japanese gaming products are deteriorating at such pace. However there's no need for me to stop for the time being nod.gif

They might not monopolized like they used to be, but they are certainly not dead.

The worst crisis in Japan's game industry is
the lack of human resources in advance programming.
Except Square Enix who r capable of building their own engine (White engine?).
most of the developers in Japan rely on Havok and other engine.
Why?
coz those who interested in this field is mostly interested in Character designing, Scripting and only a few newbies who r interested in networking or engine development.

with so many limitation, japanese game's quality is getting worse day by day, before we start mentioning about the budget.
Less experts in programming field, more time consumption on making a game.
middle house developers simply cannot afford it.
