Every dogs have different needs. Even same breed, but each and every one may react differently to different brand of kibbles. You can switch and try to find what work best for your dogs. wink.gif

Sorry for late reply, Wei Nee  tongue.gif

I searched myself from net and noticed that we can wash our dog's paws oftenly as this will wash out the oil produced by their body and this will lead to dry skin or other skin problem. Same with the bathing concept that v shouldnt bath a dog very frequent.

Can be the skin cleanser prescribe by vet used frequently? if can i may get 1 too since the naughty MiKi oso will lick her paws when she is boring  sweat.gif

I think MiKi misses all her "old friends" here oso...  rolleyes.gif  but currently i saw many new schnauzers "appear" in DPC  biggrin.gif

IMO, I see no harm in washing your dogs daily, if you have the patient and time tongue.gif Most information we found on the internet are from the western countries, and their weather is different from us. Some might be applied to our weather but some not. I would say it depends on what shampoo you are using. Get those natural ingredient shampoo. The cheaper/normal shampoo usually contain cleaning agent that dries up skin and fur. For example SLS (sodium laureth sulfate) if you check our human product, cheaper product usually contain that laugh.gif

Hi All, "long time" didnt post here, hope u n ur little cutie are fine  tongue.gif

I have a question here, my MiKi used to pee and poo on her toilet tray (this is good thing for me), but, the problem is, MiKi will have the "pee smell" on her paws, i think this is because she step on the toilet tray frequently. Although i clean her toilet tray every day, but doesnt help. Anyone has the same problem?

Planning to buy "Yu" brand dry shampoo to wash her paws, juz wan to know that, if i wash MiKi's paws using the dry shampoo every day will cause any skin problem on her?  icon_question.gif

Are you sure its pee smell and not yeast infection hmm.gif Yeast infection is very common for dogs, and it will have stronger smell on MS and also several other dog breed. Wet and humid creates the infection. Make sure Miki's feet is dry most of the time and that will help by reducing the yeast growth. If you go to the vet, usually they will suggest to shave the feet like poodle feet, but that looks so ugly on MS sweat.gif the best solution is still make sure the feet is clean and dry. Some dogs like to lick/chew their feet, and that helps the growth of the bacteria. So stop their licking/chewing bad habit.

Recently, vet told me a new product, I have personally tried but not as prescribe, need to use it daily and I just tend to forget cry.gif its a dusting powder, that you can apply on the feet to improve the "environment" and help to reduce the yeast growth. There are also cream for yeast infection that you have to use as treatment for at least 2 weeks.. but after all treatment, it still back to square one, make sure the feet is clean and dry nod.gif

we r not welcome u....as a TS but MIA so long....hahahaha....kidding tongue.gif

thanks for ur advice, i think it is not yeast infection on MiKi feet since i will use scissor to cut the fur in bettween MiKi paws every week to make sure her paws wont get wet for long time due to the long fur between her paws. I've checked MiKi's paws and found no problem....so i guess is pee smell as the smell really smell like pee...  sweat.gif

btw, wat shampoo u can recommend so that i can wash MiKi paws everdays or at least every 2 days? thinking of "yu" dry shampoo or esthe....
*
Mild yeast infection you can't really see anything. Anyway, like I previously said, any natural ingredient shampoo will be ok. I would prefer to use the normal shampoo then the dry clean one. Yu smells nice, pet esthe also.. there are a lot more shampoo out there that uses natural ingredient. nod.gif Check out when you go to petshop, read the label smile.gif

Your MS name just the same like my MS name.. now with my friend laugh.gif

@daphne, what happen to your MS?

to those whose kids don't like to play toys, you need to stimulate their interest towards the toy. Each time you play with your MS, use the toy to lure them. Play throw and fetch is fun for them.. though I don't understand what is so fun on the human side hahaha..

Find some hardy toy, as MS can be quite destroyer sometimes...

@jay, leave it or you will never train him to b quiet in the cage. Let him out to play when he quiet. Make him understand that quiet = can come out. You need patient with this...

@daphne, why your parents want you to send your MS away??

Cute Schnauzer. She has a very nice head and her ears are so symmetrical.

Although, whenever i see a Schnauzer groomed like this it makes me die a little inside (I know she is still a puppy so there is some excise, but adult Schnauzers come to my shop groomed like this constantly).
It seems to be a very common way of grooming (and i admit much easier/faster than doing it properly) but it just doesn't do such a fantastic breed justice :'( . I wouldn't expect a pet Schnauzer to be hand stripped, but a groomer should at least be able to get the lines in the right place and attempt to blend them.
I don't mean to offend anyone with this (and i sincerely hope i haven't) but correct grooming of a Schnauzer celebrates their rich heritage as a hardy working dog, the 'Malaysian Schnauzer clip' just gives them a ruffle around the belly and doesn't truly represent their character or support/embrace/enhance their stunning looks.
*
I agree with you tongue.gif sometimes I feel like "fainting" seeing the schnauzer in funny "pet cut". I love them to be groomed as close as to the breed standard as possible. They are suppose to look smart and alert.. but now and then, I have heard customers requesting "teddy bear" on a MS doh.gif "I don't want him to look so fierce" laugh.gif laugh.gif
