Component but no progressive?
Is there even the need to use component here?
Composite does look good on CRTs.

i have a CRT tv that has component input but do not support progressive scan.
so if i plug my wii to this CRT tv and set the screen to progressive in the wii menu, i still can see the wii channels/menu, but when launching game the screen go blank.
so have to set to 480i. even so, i feel that the image color is more beautiful if used component, even though its 480i. but its personal opinion only. i am not sure if technically it has any diff.
