I'm staying at the Ye Olde Smokehouse and there are alot of flaws in this place. For example:

-TV showing only RTM 1&2
-No Astro or Vision Four(except in Library)
-Room has insects on the floor
-Lame Lobby Wi-Fi
-Too expensive for 2 nights (RM400+ per night!)
-Expensive Afternoon Tea
-Not for the family
-Hasn't been renovated since the Germans stopped throwing bombs in trenches in World War I

Seriously, if you're visiting Cameron Highlands, then don't bother staying in the Ye Olde Smokehouse located near the Golf Course. What i like is the scenery, the decent Breakfast and how it manages to capture the British rural lifestyle, but every thing else sucks!

I'll only recommend it to aspiring novel writers or British expatriate Daily Mail readers. A better alternative would be the Lakehouse, which has a very expensive restaurant but with the same price of the Smokehouse and just near the Ringlet.

I was expecting a truly British experience where i could stay in the hotel room watching Eastenders or Hustle while enjoying a breezy evening just like my last visit to Britain. Yeah, that didn't happen here.

overpriced, lousy food, stupid water heater that doesn't work, and dirty room

I stayed in Olde smoke house in Frasers Hill before... Was planning to stay in old smoke house Cameron Highland, but my dad said got ghost..

Bro, in 5 star hotels we expect good rooms with decent channels and good service. And in 5 star hotel suites, we expect to be treated like Queen Elizabeth II just stayed here.

I think you've mistaken it for Cameron Highland Resorts. That's where the real ghosts are!

Yes, the YTL-managed Cameron Highlands resort is scary and it does have ghosts.

I remember about two decades ago the old smokehouse had a really nice ambience and feel to it, and the weather was very cool too. Not so now. I have no idea why anyone would stay there.

I hear brinchang is a nicer place to go for the cool weather.

i stayed in Strawberry Park Resort... which is quite disappointing also... the hotel room is not as good as it seems .... but the service is ok for me... friendly staffs... btw which hotel is at the highest peak of Cameron Highland ??? What's the hotel name ?? probably will plan for a second trip..
