Guys, I wonder if anyone had done this before. Say I own some properties in the same condo block (Unit A and Unit B). I've installed a 1st and 2nd decoder in unit A(got 50% off mah on 2nd decoder tongue.gif).

Can I take the 2nd decoder in unit A and use it in unit B?

Technically and legally, you cannot do that, because the contract signed stated on second decoder must be within the same premise.

Simple answer : Cannot.

I beg to differ. Correct that legally it's a no-no. But..., technically.... If assuming the condo has a centralized dish with a powered LNB and all, I believe the decoder will work...

I mean technically is on its contract signed clause, not on the hardware will work issue.

Confirmed can be done... I've tried last month.

I have my own astro decoder and sim but out of sheer curiosity to see if it would work. I borrowed someone else sim card, they subscribe for 2 lines.

Installed it and it worked like a charm! biggrin.gif

Yup, the issue is not about 2 decoder, any decoder you can put wherever you like, Astro won't bother.

The issue is about second decoder which has 50% discount on subscription fee which to get the 50%, the subscribers is bound adn agree on the contract to use within the same premise.

Astro works with signal (dish) + decoder + sim/smart card, it doesn't recognise the location.
