I spent a lot time in Singapore last time, so I want to recommend some nice signature items that come from there.

QUOTE(wlcling @ Sep 28 2009, 03:08 PM) There are many places that are good depending on what variety/style you like. One of the popular is in Sim Lim Square food court, LG. During lunchtime the Queue for this stall is always the longest, I guess due to their fish ball / fish cake which is quite good. For Mee Pok / Bak Chor Mee, I prefer those with nice minced pork, a mean chilli sauce and just the right amount of vinegar. I remember being brought to Toa Payoh for this, where the crowd is pretty big also, and they have a sign "For take-away, please stand here and wait. If you go away we will not make your order" |

Toa Payoh Bak Chor Mee is at Block 85C, Toa Payoh Lorong 4.... Last time my aunty stayed at Block 85B..
One of the nice and famous Chwee Kueh is at Tiong Baru, Seng Poh market. You've better think of how much to order by the time you reach the front of the queue, and order without hestitation or the seller gets inpatient and say "next"! Extra charges if you ask to pack the chili and the chai por seperately.. |
