However, for shoes, I would definitely suggest english shoes for gentleman. They are really well made, and if the shoes are made by Goodyear Construction, you are able to assure the shoes are able to do resoling after years of wearing them. Think John Lobb, Church, Edward Green.. Etc. However, not to forgot one of the most worn by the elite shoe brand, Berluti. Think Andy Warhol, they specially made a pair for him.
Good shoes are never comfortable as their soles are made by Leather or wood. So, I would suggest a pair of driving shoes for people who wants to combine style and comfort. They are really conformable and perfect for traveling. Tod's and Car Shoes made perfect ones. Car shoes are the founder of driving shoes but Tod's is the one which are more stylish. If you happen to travel to more resort or island places like Bali, St.Tropez, etc then espadrilles is probably the best choice. I love my espadrilles and wore them almost most of the trip.
For sandals, Birkenstock made very good sandals. However, for a more stylish choice, Jil Sander really made great sandals, fantastic designs but terribly uncomfortable.
Last but not least, sneakers. Leather sneakers are the good choice for leisure and gym. I have one from Z Zegna and it's so understated yet comfortable for Gym. Maison Martin Magiela DHL ones are the funky street type for young lads like me. And a Dunhill x Poulsen Skone, a old shoe manufacturer from UK. They collaborated this series of sneaker which is very well made yet youthful. And I would suggest Hogan for those who want a very comfortable and stylish designs for sneakers.

Tod's Limited Edition Gommini, my perfect shoes to survive on traveling.

My collection of shoes.
My favorite of all time is probably Salvatore Ferragamo who accompany me for both of my graduation and lots of trips with the pair of Espadrilles.
