Well I just got my shoes. Total price paid is RM 1,000, including about RM 55 in taxes and RM 50 ib DHL duty handling fee or something. Doesn't seem to be as bang for buck as compared to P.Lal which hasn't updated their prices for the horrible exchange rate.

Anyway I ordered size 7.5 based on Meermin's recommendation from my feet measurements. Barely got my feet in... Hope it loosens up a bit. Oh and the colour is noticeably darker than on the website. Feel like complaining.

I dropped by WJ and co at BSC earlier today. They carry Carmina, G&G, and John Lobb. My budget only allows my eyes to wander in the Carmina section... G&G and Lobb costs RM 4,800+ for a pair, and RM 6,000+ for the prestige range for Lobb. There was a particularly nice pair of brown museum calfs by Lobb...

Anyway for Carmina they had about 6 or 7 models (owner said he plans on bringing in more). 2 loafers, 1 longwing Derby in suede, 2 oxfords, and 1 double monk. There may be one other pair but can't quite remember. I had my eyes on the longwing Derby and double monks... Both looked so good.

One weird thing I found out is that I wear size 7.5UK for my Meermins in the Hiro last, and yet for the Uetam, Inca, and Detroit lasts I tried the 7 fits me better. Most people on the internet have said they usually take the same size for Meermin and Carmina (unless its a sleek last like Simpson). I forgot to try the Simpson last while I was there. Didn't see any with the Rain last.

Back to the topic of squeaky shoes... I told the owner that my Meermins squeak, and he said it also happened to his pair of Meermins! Sounds like the exact same problem - squeaks when you flex/bend your feet. He had no solution for me. He said he's never experienced squeaks with Carminas. It appears Meermins have a real problem with this...

What size are you? Don't say 7 or 7.5 otherwise you may take the pair I want... Haha. Not sure how many pairs they bring in for each size...
