Dust, dirt, old age, some of the insole oh the shoes are worn out, and the leather is really hard.

From the faded words on the sole/insoles i made out that they are

My shoes have not been polished in a loooong time, how many coats should i apply? to my knowledge if it has not been polished in along time the leather will soak up the first polish really fast, is there such a thing as "over-polishing" one's shoes?

my current kit consist of:

2 old shirts as rags

2 kiwi shoe polish *black,brown*

2 Horse hair shoe brush for black and brown

1 shoe polish rag from Daiso.

Am i missing anything?

1st polish attempt

2 Coats of polish, 3rd coat on heel and toe.

Used cloth to buff, daiso cloth thingie useless my old shirt did better.

Sry for the bad phone camera picture, personally i dont think it does the shoe justice.

Was to a bar for saint patties...when i woke up to my dismay i saw these scuffs on my shoes.

Can they be saved? i went to a cobbler he said most probably not just polish them over to hide the patch...FML

These shoes? try 20 years with the occasional resoling.

Mine are about 35 years and still going, aside from a few ceases. My church's black captoe has the leather chipped off but a mirror shine polish conceals it. I honestly think they can and will go another 5 years easy

Old cotton t shirt -Free+Water- Free+Kiwi wax- RM5+ elbow Grease = RM 5

Polish every 2 weeks.

Ive changed the soles once.

PS: My dad passed a few pairs to me last year, he bought them years ago in his late twenties when he was working.

i plan to get a pair of brown suede shoes that would go well with blue jeans, suggestions? My feet are rather small( i wear a 6-6.5 depending on the cut) so getting shoes is a tad hard for me.

I willing to dish out about AUD 200, but will consider max 300 if it has value.

Thoughts? I saw a handsome loake suede pair
