P Lal in PJ
WJ and Co in BSC Bangsar

More affordable option:
Zeve near KLCC

Zeve do not offer more classic colours. Their shoes are on the more on the loud side and more striking in terms of colours

I am currently looking at meermin. But shipping and cost of shoes will bring it to about 210 usd. Is it a good deal guys?

Will I get taxed by customs?

They have loud options like camo. But I also see black, brown, and burgundy. I don't see how those are not classic colours.

Meermin has always been a good deal. Last I looked at them, there are lots of stories on styleforum about QC issues. But a lot of people received good shoes as well, until they started calling it the Meermin lottery - try your luck. Don't know if that has changed in the last 2 years.

Yes shoes are taxed.

If assuming after converting it to ringgit , it is about rm 800. So will the import tax be rm 800 @ 6% = rm 48??

IINM it should be 10%. But this being Malaysia, that might not be what you get charged. Depends on what seller/courier declared it as, and what the Kastam officer then interprets it as.

10% or whatever rate you end up getting will be on the total cost including shipping and insurance.

Hey man thanks for your kind advise.

I think I will wait for meermin sales if there is any.

Unfortunately, Malaysia don't have anyone with this expertise yet, not that any of our shoe enthusiasts know of. Will have to send overseas to do.

So sad. I checked with shoemo over on social media.

They claimed they understand and able to help me but from my conversation with them, I don't think they know even what is Goodyear welted shoes or boots

patch rubber outsole on it if no one can do
I think some handbags repairs shop do it.. some people send Chanel handbags or shoes to repair.. can try ask

most cobbler or factory here don't bother to do.. because they say GYW cost is too high as need to invest GYW machines
probably higher chance if to find those GYW by hand cobblers.. but that's not going to be cheap
*
Yeah I am aware it is not going to be cheap.

One of the reasons for GYW shoes is that it is possible to resole and not to ditch away those shoes with nice patina.

Whats more important is that high quality leather shoes / boots that has molded to your feet nicely already. hahaha

Wonder if our neighbouring country, Singapore has cobblers that fixes GYW shoes...
