Hi guys, I need some office work shoe recommendation. Need to be able to go to physical shop to try out in KL. My budget is around RM 800. Currently wearing oxfard shoe from Timberland but the soles are not sturdy/lasting, less than half a year the soles getting worn out already.

If you are willing to order online and wait to get the stuff, and if you can up your budget some, I think you will be very, very happy with Meermin. Otherwise, you can always find something on Ebay. If you can find any Magnanni shoes in your size (though, bear in mind they do run big), those might be the best bang for your buck you will find.

Checked them out, looks very promising. Do the shoes fit true to size? Any duty charge for the shoes?

Why is the thread title called 'Shoes for Real Men'? I mean why put the 'real'? Just wondering

By the way, where to get a nice pair of chukka boots other than Clarks? I went to a Clarks in a shopping mall and it costed around RM500++, out of my budget. If cheaper a bit is preferable for me but I know Clarks got the quality la. But really want to try and see if got cheaper brand elsewhere or if can buy Clarks elsewhere for cheaper

Have you checked out Timberland? They do have sales once in a while if you purchase online. You can go to physical store to try them.

Online. My last purchase was from Straits Establishment, a Singapore site, but just searching Saphir Malaysia shows a lot of new(to me) options including Shoetree Project and shopee.

Shoetree Project looks particularly interesting. My next purchase will probably be from them.

Never bought from Shoetree Project before but I have from Straits Establishment. Any reason for you to get from Shoetree? Their prices are slightly more expensive compared to Straits.

I'd rather support the local sartorial scene. Plus supporting local businesses in general. And shipping will likely be faster as well.
*
Oh okay, was only curious. Local as in MY? STP and SE are both SG company, shipping from SG as well.

I have a pair of black and coffee colored dress shoes. Safe to use just neutral cream and neutral polish throughout the shoe's lifespan or do I need to get colored version?

Just checked customs website, imported leather shoes don't have import duty (HS Code - 6404), only 10% applicable tax. So now just depend on your luck, that 10% tax sometimes will include the freight charges also (will have rediculous amount sometimes).

Can vouch for this seller. Got my items within 3 days. Bought twice from his store also. Reasonably priced.

His boss is actually affiliated with Straits Establishment. Probably where they get their stocks from also.

Does it have strong cedar wood scent? Actually is it supposed to have? Ppl say it can help deodorize the shoe?
*
I have both type of shoe tree, MUJI one and from STP. Both will have cedar smell when new. I read up that to return the smell you need to use sand paper to scrub it, but in the end I didn't manage to get the cedar smell back.

Now just using them to prevent moisture build up and retain shape of the leather.

Is there any recommendation for budget shoe brand? I currently own a pair of hush puppies, looking into maybe tomaz?

May I know what is your budget that is reasonable to you? Around RM 200+ ? I believe Clarks are quite okay for budget shoes, can top up a bit and buy during sales.

Spent an hour with the Famaco and this is what happened.

I'll probably buff out the micro scratches some other time but otherwise what do you guys think?

Is the Famaco polish a normal wax polish or mirror gloss polish?
