Very nice pair of Lobbs. Wow you're on the roll man. notworthy.gif one high-end pair after another. How would you rate your GGs, Lobbs, EG and CJs?

Next up St Crispins, Vass, Berlutis or JL bespoke?

Head to Jermyn Street if you're in UK. Plenty of choices/shops to check out.

Finally picked up the cloud grey Laughton from EG. I think I made a good choice smile.gif

Waiting patiently on my way home

Just a heads up if any of you are in UK. There's a programme called 'Inside the Factory' on BBC 2 which will be featuring Crockett & Jones tonight at 8:00pm GMT.

Just got back from HK and visited a few shoe shops namely Tassels, TheArmoury and Corthay. I'll post up a few photos when I get to it.

Also on the 6th floor of Sogo, they have revamped it to ShoeCity. Quite a lot of various brands to choose from.

First up was TheArmoury over at Landmark Building, Central. The shop reminds me of an old English clothing store. They do bespoke and off the rack suits, shoes accessories etc.
Worth a visit if you're looking for a pair of Carmina or St.Crispin's.

St.Crispin's (MTO about 2-3 months wait) However they were nice enough to offer free shipping

Just had to try on a pair of StCrispin. It fits so well and I was actually tempted.

There's another branch over at the Pedder Building, 3rd Floor. Just opposite LV (Landmark Building)

and more shoes

Another shop worth checking out is Tassels, again in Landmark and just a few stores next to TheArmoury.
They carry more shoes and a wider variety namely EdwardGreen, Crockett&Jones, Cheaneys, Alden, Bontoni and the other branch at Sogo carries Santoni, Barker and Loakes.

Love the Bontoni, reminds me of Santoni

Visited Carmina at Perth, noticeable all the entry lines were made in China except those high end being made in Spain...

However there are smaller gentlemen atelier are stocking John Lobb and Alden's, but mostly in Ang Mo size.

Is that Carmina or Mermin? I thought Carminas are made in Spain?

Should get the Carminas. They are well made shoes for the price.

I find Loake's leather quite stiff, more so with a pair of boots particularly around the ankle. You could probably try using some mink oil to make it more supple or use Saphir renovateur.

Nice pair! tried one in HK and I have to say it's one of the nicest shoes I've put on.
Did you have to wait to order? I was told it would take about 3 months for MTO.

@niakulah don't mind stiffer leather but for my boots, it's killing my ankle. Maybe it's a bit too stiff without much room for flexibility.

Restocked a bunch of Saphirs over the Black Friday sale.

Just had to try out the new Mirror Gloss polish.
Difficult to see from the pic, gloss polish on left and mirror polish on right. I use it as top up to the mirror shine and it definitely adds more lustre and definition to the reflections.

you can use black on mid brown shoes but it will create a burnished look. I tend to do it on the toe caps.

3k could get you a nice pair of handgrade crockett&jones, Vass or 2 pairs of Carminas. RL purple label english shoes are made by C&J and Edward Green, however there's no flashy logos anywhere.

Salt stains are PITA. I usually take my rubber soled shoes out instead.. ones I could bash about. Mix with rain and it's a perfect storm.

when there's not much to do on Christmas break, out comes the shoe valet box biggrin.gif

My weekend beaters are usually my rubber soled derby shoes. Some occasional trainers but I prefer my leather shoe tbh.
