1 year old Barker Semi Brogue and TLB Double Monks. Wearing them everyday to work. Rotating in between them together with 1 pair of my Aldo dress shoe.

I mirror shine them once a month, use Saphir Renovatuer once every 3 months. Loving them since the day I owned.

Beautiful! Wear them in good health.

What's the model of the Barker? From P Lal? Oh, and they're Adelaide brogues btw (specifically Adelaide brogue with a medallion and brogue cap toe, if you want to be pedantic).

Edit - nevermind, found your previous post. Barker Leybourne from P Lal.

Yeah, Barker Leybourne with G fitting and Dainite sole. It was my first pair of GYW shoe. Afterward, I found out the price for GYW shoe is much cheaper if I buy it from Pediwear.com. Too bad they were closed. I bought the TLB Double monks (non-Artista) from Pediwear during their closing sale, cost me around RM900+ only with shipping.

To add on what niakulah said, brushing before and after wear is really important as dust and debris may get into the pores of the leather, in the long run this build up will cause the leather to crack especially where it creases.

Touch up cream and wax whenever there's scuffs. Reapply conditioner, cream polish and wax polish after every 10 wears as good practice.

My full treatment every 6 months is apply sole guard if soles are leather, clean, condition, cream and wax the whole shoe. Condition the welt and cream and wax sole edge.

Not wearing the same shoe continuously 2 days in a row is also very important. Let the leather to rest, wick away sweat and moisture.

Purchase a pair of locally made black derby, nice, thick leather with stitchdown construction for RM290, quite happy with this purchase.

It's difficult enough to tell in store, with all the fake stitching that is so common these days. To tell online, even worse.

After my last misadventure with my cobbler where he resoled my GYW to become a Blake Rapid hybrid, I thought I had some time before I needed to find another resoling solution.

Well the time is now. I don't have a solution. Not an economic one anyway (I can always ship it back to the factory in UK)

Sad to say Malaysia is still very much a wasteland as far as proper men's shoes are concerned.
It seems things are much better south of the border: based purely on web search, and not on
actual experience, you might want to look up CNES shoes (www.cnes.co) in Singapore. In their "About Us"
page, they do list "Goodyear Resoling Services".

Though I don't know if your shoes can still be "Goodyear resoled", as they have "morphed/evolved" somewhat, haha blush.gif

Thanks. I'll have to look them up.

This particular pair is not modified other than the rubber toe tip. The modified one I mentioned is a different pair.

And yet another pair, the one I'm wearing right now, I just noticed has gotten very thin and spongy. Sigh...cons of rotating for even wear - similar aged shoes will need resoling at around the same time.

Most welcome.

Do keep us posted.

(Anyways, seems like you got maximum value out of those shoes, and all the
while looking a cut above, to boot!)

I'm a Loake fan. 3 out of 4 of my dress shoes are Loake.

Never tried Loake sneakers before, but this is on sale:

https://www.loake.com/product/owens-navy-suede/

Uppers are stitched to the soles, not cemented, so that's good.

And the sole does not appear to have the vulcanized foxing that plagues Converse and Van's shoes.
