Just checked customs website, imported leather shoes don't have import duty (HS Code - 6404), only 10% applicable tax. So now just depend on your luck, that 10% tax sometimes will include the freight charges also (will have rediculous amount sometimes).

Leather shoes have SST 10%
If unlucky import tax they charge 5-10% then easily the bill will add 15-20%

Quite difficult to pass, as nett value is indicated on the shipment label

Vendor will suggest in the payment page
if you accept, can tick on the option so final amount will be included tax + handling fees

Just received my shipment today, was block by kastam, have to clear the tax + processing fees to release.
Cost difference is only around RM30+
so it's like place a bet, if I won then tax free, if I lose then pay the tax + kastam processing fees (this is for my case, for your purchase please do your own calculation, I will not responsible for you loss incase kastam tax you higher)

Taxation is an individual responsibility of all citizen smile.gif

Hmmm ok. Which vendor is that?

I've only ever bought shoes overseas from Pediwear and they didn't offer this option(or maybe I missed it at checkout?). Other non-shoe vendors I have bought items >RM500 didn't appear to offer this option either.

My latest purchase that comes to mind was a whole side of leather from District Leather Supply. Had to go to Kastam and pay about RM160 in taxes even though it was actually cheaper than my shoes from Pediwear. I guess physical size also plays a part on whether or not Kastam holds your parcel. In this case, a shoebox sized parcel vs a parcel the size of a rolled up, 5 foot tall, carpet.

But very confusing

In Kastam page, they show leather shoes no SST and no Import or Export rate
(under PERINTAH DUTI KASTAM 2017 & PERINTAH DUTI KASTAM 2017 ARTIGA - HS Code 6404)

But in SST page, they show all leather shoe have 10% SST

Edit: Ok i found the keyword in Kastam page..
Out sole rubber = no SST
Out sole leather = 10% SST
means if you use shipment, better buy Dainite rubber sole
