Try turning off 24p on the BD player. Maybe your TV does not support it.
It asks to select language, the BD not from US? This post has been edited by aiman04: Sep 24 2009, 08:12 PM |

As far as I know, UK Transformer is region free... so if ur disc is from USA / UK, it's not region locked. What TV do u have?

If wrong region the player will pop up a message saying so. It won't even load to the menus.
Try setting the resolution to "Auto" instead of 1080p. If that still doesn't work, then there are three possibilities I can think of that has similar problem: 1. HDCP handshake. 2. 50hz content, only region B players support this. 3. Defective disc. The first is more an issue to older HD TVs, and Transformers is never encoded at 1080/50 in any release as far as I know. So my pick would be number 3. |

QUOTE(digital_desire @ Sep 24 2009, 09:55 PM) the resolution is at Auto HD ready means the highest resolution it can do is 1080i. If you set the BD player to output 1080p, it will force that resolution regardless of your TV's capability, that's why you won't see the video. By setting to "auto", the player detects your TV's resolution and set to the highest that your TV can handle.my TV is not Full HD thought, it is Panasonic 42" HD ready Plasma, does it matter? Maybe the disc is defective. To troubleshoot, take the discs to test on other player or borrow other BD and test on your player. Good luck. QUOTE(digital_desire @ Sep 24 2009, 10:22 PM) no AV receiver, straight from the player to TV I believe it is something to do with BD Live. Make sure u have shut off the BD Live function totally in the Panasonic player 1st. Then if possible, can you erase all BD Live data. Reboot the system and try again.already change the disk once, tomorrow will change again, hopefully everything will be ok, plan to buy lotsa Bluray Disk |

Try updating the BDP-60's firmware. If you've never updated it since you brought the player home, connect it to the internet and get it updated. The most recent firmware is v2.0. When mine was at v1.9 it constantly locks up during boot up. So far its acting "ok" with the latest firmware.
Good luck. |

A lot of players do funny things when their persistent storage gets corrupted. One way would be to erase all BD Live data and retry without the BD Live turned on at all. This is being reported in a number of players. Some newer Fox discs (eg. Wolverine) seem to lock up when there is less than 1GB of persistent storage for BD Live. Thereafter, nothing plays, it just freezes. The only way to unfix it is to delete the persistent storage, turn off BD Live for good, then play the movie. Its worth a try. |

If the problem is indeed a defective disc, then it's no longer complicated I guess.
Alright bro, keep us updated. Good luck. Added on September 24, 2009, 11:49 pmSetting it to "prohibited" should turn off the BD-Live completely, and remove the ethernet cable as well just to make sure. On PS3, there's a folder called BD-Data, can erase from there. For Panasonic players, go to the SD card. Your player is brand new virgin right? The shouldn't be any data anyway, just check for confirmation. This post has been edited by aiman04: Sep 24 2009, 11:49 PM |

QUOTE(digital_desire @ Sep 24 2009, 11:28 PM) thanks for the information guys 'Friendly neighbourhood store' ? May I know what you mean by 'Friendly' ? never thought a Bluray player could be so complicated anyway i got my Transformer Bluray from a 'friendly neighborhood store' i tried 2 disk for over 20 times, every time, it will load the Main Menu without fail, i can "select" all the scene from there, it just won't "play" i already set the Internet Access to Prohibited, it should turned off all BD live right? how to erase the BD live data? i never connect it to the internet, shouldn't have any data? just upgraded to the latest firmware by using a CD, still no play, hopefully the store has a copy that will play on my player cheers If friendly means BD-R, then for your info this BD-60 has a lot of problems playing those BD-R titles. I encountered the same problems before with this player on some BD-R. Can play everything on the disc EXCEPT the main movie itself If yours is original then please don't be angry. Just want to share some information |

I just never assumes anyone here would be talking about illegal stuffs. Lesson learned. I never have any experience with pirated BDs, so I don't know nuts about any problems it might has. He mentions about regional lock, does pirated BDs have that? The TS never confirms to us yet the source of the BD, lets let him have the benefits of doubts until he reveals the truth. |
