when you wrote RM2.6k as fresh graduate in bank, you are telling people that you are in UOB. The starting salary in bank is actually well known already.

Public bank = 2.8k
UOB = 2.6k
CIMB worse. CIMB Bank = 1.8-2.2k. CIMB Investment Bank = 2.5k. Most people talk about CIMB salary is very high but it is actually for MT salary only.
Heard that OCBC 2.2k or 2.6k too.

comparing with other banks, 2.6k is considering as quite ok.

Not to say as high but it is averagely good.

public bank 2.8k is better but it do not differ much. quite a lot of people graduated last year still remaining at their salary after probation because quite a lot of stingy banks do not increase salary after probation. So, your 2.6k maybe higher than quite a lot of peoples' salary(of course that not comparing the salary with UOB and public bank staff salary).

I think maybe he work at Singapore?

His way of writing is weird. Reaching 22 years old at the end of year means this year 22 years old already. Still saying 21 now

I dont know whether this thread is right or wrong..

So far, I see many fresh grats earning RM3.5K to RM4K, some even with only a 2nd upper class degree whereby many fresh grats with 1st class honours degree cant even negotiate a RM3K salary.

Secondly, I also see many 25 to 27 yrs old with only 3 years of post-graduate experience earning between RM7K to RM10K where many ppl with good professional experience of 5 yrs cant even achieve the RM5K salary mark target.

I am not being jealous here but just curious whether those figures reported by forummers here is indeed correct or incorrect???

Fresh grad with RM3k+ is still possible, nowadays some companies do provide the salary although it is rare. It is like 20+ years ago, some of the fresh grad able to get RM2k salary. So now RM3k+ is possible. Excel in academics seems to be not really helpful in getting higher salary except if he/she graduated from overseas. Nowadays exists the bias in salary due to the "overseas universities". Of course that there are some universities graduate from overseas such as LSE, MIT, ... are exceptional but it seems like nowadays when you write your university as overseas university, then the chance for interview has already increased.

25-27 years old people earning RM7-10k is quite normal is the industry is Oil and Gas. A fresh graduate in geology can get RM4-5k salary in Oil and Gas industry. But for others, it seems a bit high but we are not sure about the truth of it.

Hired few management trainee means the company has to prepare for few departments for them to be HOD?

It is weird. There are staff in the dept but they purposely hire a fresh graduate to be HOD after 1 year but they do not consider more experienced staff or hire experienced people for it. 1 year to be HOD should be impossible except you own the company by yourself.

Be skeptical of the offer. Seems to be too nice to believe.

Nah, Malaysian girls aren't that superficial (I hope). You're right a 100k car is very much within my budget. Considered buying a Swift or Ford Fiesta for my mom, and pay the car off in 3-5 years. Of course you can join the company, though I can't say which company for confidentiality purpose. Just apply to companies in Malaysia that have to do with management consulting.

It's neither, though I'm still awaiting news from McKinsey and some other investment banks.

Thanks, it was pretty shocking when I read the offer letter because the company's standard salary package for a fresh grad is about slightly more than half of the amount. Maybe the differential in salary was due to the division that I was assigned to.

It is hard for you to change a job with a better salary since you still do not have much experience.

Consulting firm is a weird type of company. Companies pays maybe few millions for just a "not clearly feedback" from consulting firm. The "not clearly feedback" means that the consulting firm will not do a perfect job and just trying to let the target company know the basic things. The reason is if the company able to grab the clear idea, then companies will not pay few millions for consulting firm anymore.

The consulting firm that i mean is not investment banking advisory because investment banking advisory only can be done by investment banking or some specifically licensed companies.
