400 increment after working just 8 months is not underpaid..work for at least 1yr if you really want to leave, 8months experience will do no good in your resume.

Actually I receive the letter for increment, it's suppose to be on February. But after I told my manager that I'm leaving soon (after finishing the HK project), then she trying to hold me by talking to HR manager to increase it on december.
She told me after her maternity leave (somewhere end of february) and will try to increase to 2500 again.
Yes I do know at least 1 year experience is important, I will leave it either end of my contractual period or 1~2 month later.
But somehow I think.. 2500 it's like too few to me for after working for 1 year. A little bit regret because last year before I start working, I got offered 2500 from head hunter to work in Intel but I refused (heard a lot of bad news like headhunter rarely increase your salary)

MNC has less increment but they do have contractual bonus which most local company can't provide especially those cina man company ...
so you need count by annual salary ...
*
Yes annual salary, that's my main point of leaving because once MNC do provide bonus if you are permanent.
and also I planned to move to a job that are more to software security area which will be my main interest (but it's rarely to find these job, especially in penang)

I have a question
- If I have an offer from head hunter while they provide salary that I want with bonus, do you think I should go for it (Might have a chance to get converted to permanent or there might be a risk that sometime the job I got offered will never have permanent)

Comments are appreciated.

I heard from rumour that, headhunter get paid for senior post while they hire junior to earn your salary per month. or else the MNC pay them a lum sum for slotting people in. btw.. Headhunter = job agencies right? or there is different in between them?

My good man... the meaning of being headhunted can be played out in this scenario.

You are working in some big firm under a 5 year bond because they sponsored you for your postgrad or professional paper. Some competitor sees your potential and wants you to work with them. In their eyes, your talent is very very rare in that field. They pay your current company the bond (they buy you up, very much like EPL footballers transfer business). Then you work for them. Usually they have an offer you can't resist. Since they want you so much, you have a very big bargaining chip in your pockets.

Any good channel to get yourself discovered by future employer?

You have gotta prove that you're superb at what you're doing. You can do everything in your job scope better than your peers (that includes in other firms as well).

Most of the time, you also have to have luck - to be at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, while being seen by the right people who are in the right mood.

I know... sounds... demoralizing. Lol. But it happens all the time you know. Big prospective employers having their normal coffee at a coffee outlet suddenly notices a very talented waiter/waitress who seems to have good marketing skills. Taken in, trained, and then works in a big bank after that. Who knows? wink.gif
*
too bad... I don't think I able to show my practical skill in programming in coffee outlet =="
Even that if we talking about project thing during lunch time, if the employer doesn't come to know me, he won't even know how to reach me and my current employer too. Very difficult to have that chances.

What I have in mind is trying to find a good company to work with, then let the employer discover your talent. That will be better since they can see how you perform during ur working time. Or get the job by reference of someone work in the company might be better as well?
