omg 45k. urmm, the company actually is created by yours from scratch? may i knw what type of service? is it in range of accomodation ?

Started by someone else. I just took over and expanded, and increase the clientele. The salary may look good, but I dont really get to see my kids during the long hours of work, and i dont get to go on holidays and I have to work even though I had high fever. Sometimes it's just not worth it..

You could retire early you know.

Yeah, when the passive income can cover my current and future expenditure, then it's time to retire.. Actually retirement is not really a good idea, sitting at home and u actually feel useless after a while.

RM45K, after tax deduction should be about RM38K. Still a lot, oww!

It's not bad a pay, but quite a few people i know are earning that much.. or more. Even the chrysathemum tea seller by the roadside near my office earns around 15k a month. He sells 500 glass a day, can go up to 800 a day if weather is hot. Each glass is Rm1. His cost - 2-3 bags of Chrysanthemum flowers, and 3-5kg of sugar. That works out to be around RM10-15 for cost for one whole day.

True of not, chrysanthemum seller RM15K. If that's the case, all no need to study liao.. just open a stall selling chay kuey tiau can edy.

His business was so good until all his children also sell chrysanthemum tea. By the way his stall was located in a popular tourist area. Yeah, if you can stand the heat of frying char koay teow, and inhale all the smoke.. why not? Of course need to have certain standard your koay teow. But fried koay teow has the lowest margin of all hawker food, and you need the most time amongst all hawker food to prepare a serving of fried koay teow, as compared to koay teow soup. Oh by the way, a reasonably good business putu-mayong chap earns around 4-5k a month.. and that I know from insurance claim manager who hired a private investigator to investigate the putu-mayong chap for inflated/false claim. The investigator just sat there the whole day, counting how many pieces he actually sold, without him knowing of course. In the end the claim went through. Cost was very cheap, only egg and flour etc.

Yup. Tax-free income is damn crazy. Us, salaried workers, we are taxed. Hawkers and other odd job workers do not get taxed.

There's this guy in Melbourne who got interviewed by some people. He was a very shaggy fellow, with an unshaven appearance and always acted like a beggar. He would wash people's car wind-screens for two dollars, and usually the owners of those cars will throw in some tips or buy him lunch or something.

One day, he washes wind-screens for 8 hours. He managed to do like 250 windscreens per day for 2 dollars or something, and took back like 200 bucks in tips. That's 700 dollars per day. Plus, he gets free meals. Say he works 300 days in a year. Thats 210k, tax free!!

The amounts i posted were fictional, i forgot the details, but i know he got something like an annual income of 200 ~ 220k tax free. AUSSIE DOLLARS K!

To get a 200k annual income AFTER tax in Australia, you have to earn something like 380k annually, because the tax rate here is around 47%.

What job, can earn u 380k per annum?

ps : This guy has a million dollar MANSION in the most posh residential areas in Victoria and drives a beautiful SLK to work, he parks his car a hundred metres away and then goes to his work place - in torn clothes, face all dirty dirty, shaggy and all, looking like a beggar!

pps : you can't wash your own car in victoria (thats what i heard), due to drought. You can wash your windscreens though! That's why he can do this for a living - a pretty neat one at that!

You mean the wind screen cleaner at the traffic light junction? I remember seeing them during student days weaving around stopped cars at the junction. Usually they didnt ask for cash, only tips. Pretty dangerous job they were doing. No wonder there were so many of them since they were top 1% earner in Australia!

he is not even qualify to post here because his income is not RM210k per month. His income is never constant as a forex trader. If i m earning rm210k per mth, wtf am i be here for? laugh.gif

Hi. It's possible he is earning RM210k a month, not not using a demo account, it all depends on his capital. He may have USD 10million in capital, with 10% return, it works out to be around average RM300k a month.

BUT he claimed to have only USD 1.4m (in another thread) and making USD45,000 to USD85,000 (average USD63,000) a month, which is 4.5% of his capital. That will give him USD 110 billion after 20 years of forex trading (using compound interest calculator, with 4.5% return on capital monthly over 20 years, which translate to 70% compounded return yearly), making him the richest man in the world.

If only that were possible..ideally compounding interest would work that way but I doubt if I'll put in more than USD 200K as capital (thus allowing me to increase the position size) because after a certain point, it would be very hard to liquidate ones position, which is not good when ur near to important economic news releases by central banks or Ben Bernanke's press conference. I make between 20% to 30% returns per month, and no, it's not a demo account but a real one. Cheers!

My income is nothing to shout about in the world of trading. It's not uncommon to find successful traders earning beyond USD100,000 permonth. One trader I know makes money to the tune of USD5000 per minute scalping the EURUSD which is a favorite pair for scalpers owing to it's low spread.  But thats nothing when compared to George Soros who made over USD1 billion in one day shorting the pound sterling. It's one the greatest trades in the field of trading.

Good to hear that you can earn consistent income by using forex. Maybe I should read up more on forex trading. Even before the global financial crisis, my monthly stock return (local and international) is only a mere 5-6% return on my capital, which i was already very happy of, since it's more than my current job. I know forex trading can mitigate more unknown variables compared to stock investment, just dont have the time to do it..

Nowadays people who come out with a degree in mass comm don't necessary get hired without any other ability. Nowadays everyone can do good talking, good writing, especially if you're aiming to work in big corporate companies out there.
I'll share with you my working experience working in temporary fields.

Used to work in my college cafe during my class break for a few hours. I take orders from college students ^-^ and best part is, working hours is very flexible. I can work for even 30 minutes and then ciao back to class.. Pay wise RM5 per hour.

After that, I work as course assistant counselor in the marketing department in my college and the pay also same.. RM5 per hour

During semester break for 3 months + , I worked in First World Hotel Genting Highlands as front desk office, Info counter, etc, went to the PR side too..and my pay is not more or lesser than RM1800 - RM2000.. hey, not bad for a 19 year old.. Basic was RM699 (as I can remember) But bare in mind, working during the month of school holidays/end of the year, worker's percentage tends to goes higher

and along the way I did a few freelance job related to my field of studies during and after college life..

Now in my working life..

Good on you. You really worked hard during your college years. I used to work as a waiter, newspaper delivery boy during high school and university days. Had to wake up at 5am to deliver newspaper. Night time worked as catering service waiter. Tired to drive taxi but could not get the necessary requirements. 1st permanent job paid RM1700. Now at least got some place to breath. Dont just work hard, work smart.

Those who earn less than RM2k are normally fresh grad or blue collars. Apparently mere degree holders or any diploma graduates are more than demand.  sweat.gif

I think the stats says 74% earning less than 2k because the 74% dont pay income tax... A lot of them earn more than 2k, but for income tax wise, they declare earning less than 2k.

Of course not, since tax evasion is so rampant, a significant % of that earns more than 2k. I dont have any evidence to support my claim, it's just what i observe from checking with the hawkers

Like any developed countries, eg Australia, England and US, there are already oversupply of doctors in urban areas. Rural areas like Sarawak and Sabah are still very short of doctors. In Penang, the ratio of population to doctor is already 500:1, like any western countries.
