Parents: RM 500
Insurance: Not sure about that but my company got insurance coverage for me for group term life and personal accident...should I buy life insurance for myself?
PTPTN loan: RM 200 monthly
But I tend to spend more on clothes and entertainment......planning to save RM 1000 monthly from my salary....

for us fresh grad starting salary is around 2.2k to 2.6k if lucky. Since u definitely have to spent rm1.1k plus entertainments and shopping, it will be an achievement if u can save rm1k per month....Sad, to say if u r living in KL ntg much u can saved....too much life rclxm9.gif

I understand what u meant. Working in LNG tanker or oil tanker like those MISC or Tenaga are getting high paid but once u onboard u will be home away maybe for months....That is the drawback...

Well, if u work offshore on platform maybe u can opt for 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off..Maybe u are away but not so long.....That is not so bad...The drawback is the high risk of danger...

well. 2weeks on/of for offshore. but do you know how much they've to work per day. it is about 12 hours per day. of course it'll be tiring to keep them longer. on ship, normal working hours is about 8hours per day. furthermore they stuck only in one place on the platform. while ships move around and you get the chances to visit other people country.

both side have almost similar risk.

both sides have pros n cons. and being away for long tym from home is what graduates nowadays fears. u want to earn big then u'll have to sacrifice.

Yes, 12hrs per day..6am eat, 9am tea, 12pm lunch, 3pm tea, 6pm break..After all it is still not that bad plus i work at control room somemore...Most of the time just job standby only biggrin.gif ....i dont work at platform but i actually perform servicing work onboard...My company is the vendor.....If i were to choose i will work offshore rather than go on ship... smile.gif

i don't know man.. some people says.. working at this type of job: offshore/shiping etc.. it just like you trade your life with money man.. yes the income maybe much higher.. but the life with family n friends will be taken away from you..

time to go hang out with frens.. watching movies, go back to hometown during weekends.. gathering and so on..
if something emergency happens... can we really be there around people we love?

i think its depends on how much you want to sacrified , for me i choose the balance of both smile.gif

Agreed. That's is absolutely correct.

If there is anything happen you really can't come back immediately. This is due to the availability of chopper. Not to say want to come back then can come back. Sometimes wheather not good chopper can't land at helideck need to wait for few days again to go back. Going back with Cargo boat??? Worst. Long hours plus the condition definitely will make you seasick..... smile.gif
