Added on April 26, 2010, 12:17 pm QUOTE(sya_dc @ Apr 6 2010, 04:04 PM) Job Title : server/waitress Nowadays people who come out with a degree in mass comm don't necessary get hired without any other ability. Nowadays everyone can do good talking, good writing, especially if you're aiming to work in big corporate companies out there.Age: 22 Qualification: CAT greaduatee Years spent in company : < 1 year Company : THe Apartment @ KLCC (Under Chasswood Sdn Bhd) Location : KLCC Tenure : Part time Experience before joining : none Salary : RM 6 per hour, average 32 a week (Rm 6 x 32 x 4 = Rm768) Working hrs: 4 days flexi hours. Yeah Im not going to be a waitress for life, anyway i just work because i need money since i am still a student, need to pay for my food & transport, plus dont really want to take my parents money cuz they are very old already (dad is 70, mum is 60). Am living with minimal , food cook on my own and dont go lepak much. I thought of taking MASS COMM (Public Relations) after my CAT. But thing is, i heard the pay for starters is about rm2k? and i think thats not enough. haha Just wondering what job can give high pay, like rm5 k above a month. My sis is a teacher, she ask me to be one but i dont think im capable of that. i am very outgoing and i will not set a good example to students, if i am going to be a teacher. Plus i dont really find myself work in office. headache loo. have to make decision soon. After graduate CAT have to go to anohter college and settle to 1 course, so want to make desicions now, help me can? I'll share with you my working experience working in temporary fields. Used to work in my college cafe during my class break for a few hours. I take orders from college students ^-^ and best part is, working hours is very flexible. I can work for even 30 minutes and then ciao back to class.. Pay wise RM5 per hour. After that, I work as course assistant counselor in the marketing department in my college and the pay also same.. RM5 per hour During semester break for 3 months + , I worked in First World Hotel Genting Highlands as front desk office, Info counter, etc, went to the PR side too..and my pay is not more or lesser than RM1800 - RM2000.. hey, not bad for a 19 year old.. Basic was RM699 (as I can remember) But bare in mind, working during the month of school holidays/end of the year, worker's percentage tends to goes higher and along the way I did a few freelance job related to my field of studies during and after college life.. Now in my working life.. This post has been edited by g r a p e k e y: Apr 26 2010, 12:17 PM |

QUOTE(pelvin @ Apr 26 2010, 04:26 PM) yeah only designer in Malaysia company.. u mean 1st income when i work in this company or my previous 1.. advertising company like LB pay peanuts le.. but if you're working as a freelancer for big agencies, you will probably earn more.they like to take advantage of designers.. lastime i work in web design company.. they pay me peanuts even working for 2 years.. I think in house designers get pay more le and what do you mean by only designer in malaysia company? =) In house designers always gets higher pay.. but for a start is advisable to work in agencies to gain experience doesn't matter low pay aka work like dog to eat another dog to survive Added on April 27, 2010, 12:33 pm QUOTE(newbie99 @ Apr 26 2010, 04:17 PM) Good on you. You really worked hard during your college years. I used to work as a waiter, newspaper delivery boy during high school and university days. Had to wake up at 5am to deliver newspaper. Night time worked as catering service waiter. Tired to drive taxi but could not get the necessary requirements. 1st permanent job paid RM1700. Now at least got some place to breath. Dont just work hard, work smart. wow, tough times.. But today you're a millionaire already =) .. yessss.. work smart! This post has been edited by g r a p e k e y: Apr 27 2010, 12:33 PM |
