QUOTE(say_it @ Apr 3 2010, 05:02 PM) The one I know they're doing technical stuff, some of them are design engineer mainly in semi-con industry. I doubt the gap between a managerial role and a senior engineer role will be that large. Unless they're in certain industry. thanks mate. i've just been offered a job there in the water industry. damn if in that case I believe i ve been had. they offered me sgd5000. if what u say is more then that, then this company really underpaid me. now what should i do. i've already signed the agreement last week n will start my work in may. am i to late to do something about it. please help me p/s my motivation drop already This post has been edited by azrink: Apr 4 2010, 11:29 AM

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Apr 3 2010, 11:37 AM) but he is asking about Mgr role with Engineering background + 10 years SG working exp. so >9k normal. How much more depend on the fields and your quality. Some dont do technical work but sales, so their salary also depend on their sales. you mean 10yrs workin experience in singapore or malaysia or either way. are there any difference, i mean working experience in sg and msia? I m more into technical stuff, mainly in a Water Treatment Plant. my experience mainly in malaysia, 10yrs to be exect. just had a first break in working in sg. but i guess most already know. i m really super duper noob in working in singapore. so i dunno how to nego my salary. even in malaysia i dunno how to nego my salary, i dont want to be call a greedy person. but at the same time i dont ppl to take an advantage over my sincerity. I believe i had been underpaid for a very long time.... luck for those 5/6yrs experience in engineering getting in Rm6K-Rm7K. me? 10yrs experience, salary rm4600 only ... thats wahy after 10yrs ive decided to move on. if what some of the forumers said that u can get sgd7k-sgd9k for the same kind of experience that i have, then the underpaid thingy would haunted me for the rest of my life. My motivation towards my new work went back to zero already. nasib badan.....

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Apr 4 2010, 09:14 PM) @azrink, tall to your malaysian boss, can he increase your pay if you wish. It has been 10 years, what will happen in next 5 years, the same? So what to lose if you chose to work in Sg for 5k but a new environment and new opportunity ahead? Dollar to Dollar spending is part of the story. Say saving for example, you can save Rm1k in MY vs you save S$1k in SG, whick has higher spending power? The question will be are you coming to work or move your whole family here for real. I am not in your industry so I can't comment on the experience part. S$5k is your starting pay for a new guy in a company. RM5k is the pay you get being a veteran in a company. Which one you think will increase further? yup i get your point there river. thanks mate. yup its better in SG. one more thing, the main reason i apply for the job because of the experience that i wanted to gain. workin with new ppl, learn new tings, share my experience with em. thats is my main goal. again thanks river. your taught enlighten me.
