Fresh grads range from 1800 - 3000 in the general case, for KL jobs.
Jobs further from city centre may pay less.
If you think you're a hotshot grad, these figures don't apply.

Its all about opportunities.
You probably land in a 2K+ job for starters. And you might get 10K a month working 1 hour a day like some other guy in some thread here. What's important, is to secure stable income to meet your personal needs. |

QUOTE(Starbucki @ Jun 2 2010, 09:59 AM) It's easy to lose hope when people here tell you that fresh grads earn 2.5k, and those with 3 years experience get 5k. I joined a large MNC at 1.8K. 3 years later I was at 2.1K. Thats RM90 a year increment. 3-5% a year, very average, very normal. What you don't see and hear are fresh graduates who find it difficult to even get a 1k clerical job. And apparently that was "good already, so many no increment" Know your market averages. Stop saying "that salary report is BS". Then in turn know your own value and how to bargain for more. |

QUOTE(lynn1901 @ Jun 27 2010, 10:44 PM) I've interviewed a few fresh graduates asking for salary above RM2500, reason is they graduated from oversea and some because they are 1st class honour. Honestly, I won't choose those fresh graduate who demand so much. At last, I choose a fresh graduate with CGPA 3.65 and expected salary is RM2000. I offered her RM1700 + allowance + commission and she accepted. After 6 months, she can perform and I increased her salary to RM2000. I think the most importance is you love the job, put effort to perform the best, innovative and learn. Your boss will knew it. If they don't appreciate you, learn everything and jump la. I believe a company offer RM1700 for fresh grad and want the high grade grade is being very cheapskate and these candidate will easily find a new job and you will deal with the attrition which is a loss to your company. |

QUOTE(lynn1901 @ Jun 30 2010, 11:30 PM) RM2000 basic for a fresh graduate consider underpaid? If this basic is net pay then consider is underpaid, but I still offer allowance (RM350 allowance), petrol claim (limit to RM500/month) and commission (0.4% on sales), she follow up current sales value about RM100K / month, total pay is about RM2000 + RM350 allowance + RM400 commission = RM2750/month. Previously you did not mention your allowance and commissions rate. Now that you did, I have no debate. This is a good rate for fresh grad. (at 1700 + 350 + MILEAGE + COMMISSION). |

QUOTE(kenhm @ Jul 9 2010, 11:35 AM) agree with u, that is such a rubbish HR person, i am wonder wheather she got learn HR management or not before in charge in recritment. Btw, RM 2.5K is not much nowadays, somemore ppl grad from oversea and first class honour,. it worth much more than that value. this HR are so stupid, hire 'people' in sake of occupy the vacancy, in short, hire people for 'people', but i can tell most successful company they hire people for soultion, that is the different. SHIT HR is a dirty job, especially over here where there is very little focus on talent management. |

QUOTE(kelvin_tan @ Jan 18 2011, 10:02 AM) @acrylic_26 for position of that level its too easy to get bully by companies out there. cos if you dont want it, there likely to be lots of other applicants. its quite unfair to just take your current sal + ~XX% and offer, you may only get half-hearted candidates. You have already lost. The first person to give out the number loses. Why did you tell them that your current pay is 1.8k in the first place? how is that any relevance to the job you are about to take? The salary should be dependant on job responsibilities, not how much you previously earned. |
