3.7k is not underpaid even though without epf, but also depends on your industry and company as well. 3.7k - 400 (epf) = 3.3k, pretty decent to me

i can say 3.3k is pretty quite decent already some ppl have been working for 4 years plus and only drawing that amount.

It's been a while since i last posted my interim increment. I think it is in version 2.

Job Title : Accounts and Admin Exec
Job Desciption : One Leg Kick / 1 man show in the office for all admin/accounts/HR jobs & watever others dowan to do
Years spent in company : 2 years
Company : French Co.
Industry : Trading
Tenure : permanent
Employment Level : Exec
Experience before joining : 3.5 years
salary : RM3457
Just Got my pathetic 5% increment. Very de-motivating. No bonus for the past 2 yrs and 5% increment every year. Haiz.

in my humble oppinion 3.4k after deductions i presume for an admin/accounts exec is acceptable. If im not mistaken your salary is at its limit already for the position. the only way to me in order for you to advance your salary is to be promoted as an asst Manager or senior executive.

Times are bad these 2 years some $$ making companies too had with held bonuses. Plus one more thing the increment is normal for 5%. You should be lucky as some do not even get any increment. Some only got 2 -3 %. . hope this helps to change your perspective.

I'm gonna be 24 this year, been working 1.5 years. But i dont get bonus though. The thing is, the line i am in (tech & functional consultants for a MNC), they earn big bucks. I am the small ciku among the rest of them. Hence, probably that's why i feel underpaid. I dont get OT claims, and i work till 8pm most of the days now. I just wrote an email to my boss about the unfairness in OT as we are short of hand, and the project does not want to give us more resources. So the current resources have to 'ham pa lang pao sai'.

Since we can manage the project without the extra resources (by working our ass off with overtime), they realised they can save money and deny us extra handsĀ  blink.gif ... wtf man.

i see .. well being 24 and earning 3.3k is not bad already. im almost 30 and still earning a meager salary of 3.2k with 5 yrs of experience as an executive.

one thing that strikes me the most is why are you not given EPF? despite being a contract staff, you are entitled for epf deductions. I presume you are permant staff. never the least should you be a contracted staff, some companies do not pay bonuses to its contract staff esp if you are a 3rd party contract staff. I.e not directly hired by the company and not in their payroll.

The important thing is that - whats stated in your employment contract are you eligible for bonuses and OT claims ? perhaps you need to revisit our employment contract and see what does it says.

plus on the hind side you only have been working for 1.5 years. you have to pardon me as i'm not to sure what kind of organization you work with but i presume it might be an audit company some thing like accenture or EY. Different org has different pay scale and assuming your are still a junior exec its considered fair for the salary range of RM 3.3K.

perhaps you can check out your actual worth via http://www.kellyservices.com.my/res/conten...guide09_mal.pdf n jobstreet there . or jobstreet at http://myjobstreet-beta.jobstreet.com/care...?param=||my||my and http://www.robertwalters.com/en-my/salarysurvey/download.do

Hope this helps and speaking of salary i feel that i too should be an IT Procurement specialist or an asst Purchasing manager instead. if not then hope i get to be a consultant in Accenture = Supply Chain

yea i know.. but dont trust the date from jobstreet entirely it is not accurate and according to jobstreet. i contacted them on this issue before and they had mentioned to me that salary report is just a sampling study they take from their own web. it is by no means accurate and served as a guide for employers or employees. what i can say is that best you do some checks with other companies like kelly, robert walters and also our HRD Ministry for a more accurate information.

Aiii.....  My Current Salary is almost RM4K, but they said they can only offer RM2.8K after the interview. But I like the job so much, and Money is important for me as I need to provide financial support for my family. Do not know how....
*
well if you are getting that at the moment i suggest you stay put first... no point jump ship for a lower pay.. unless there is some relocation involved and other non cashed value rewards.

may i ask what is the reason for the change in job you are looking for ?

My current company is so bad in term of the boss and the benefits. The benefits never improve but keep on going down. And the most important is the boss, do not have resources, and force us to do. People over here like to do things last minutes. I do not know why...... Why can't they be a bit more efficient. And I'm so regret to put down an over last 2 year.....

well i totally understand how you feel.. its common now a days.. bosses do not appreciate their staff.. but on the other hand perhaps you could be a change agent get your colleagues to change i know its not easy and will take time and effort and plenty of tears too but better then not trying.

As for cut in benefit its not so bad as long as they do not start to cut your pay. At the end of the day it really depends what you are looking for high pay = high stress, low pay lower stress. I suggest you stay on for another 3 months at the same time look for better offer. Look at it in terms of both monetary rewards and non monetary rewards like benefits and working condition and environment. IF im not mistaken you are in web design right ? why not apply for air asia ? i heard they are looking for ppl there.

good luck
