lynn1901, choose the one with cgpa of 2.5 if you have that kind of budget.

there is "zero" reason for someone good to stay in a company that does not pay accordingly. Most will leave once they find a better job. Every company can offer learning opportunities, training etc..

Choose the 2.5cgpa one and there is a higher chance that he will stick with the company due to a lack of choice. Of course, there is always the odd one that doesn't mind the low pay but that is an abnormality.

RM1700 not the net pay, just the basic salary...now increased to RM2000 basic, still underpaid? Ok, might consider have a good yearly increament for her. Hm..so far she is quite enjoy because I give her free hand to do everything. Sigh..maybe too long din update myself for the salary market.

to be honest as an employer all the efforts, training, and time spent to train her is so damn important. you get good result peeps when they know the market they jump ship you lose everything. It is either you get someone who would have a future of longer stay or you pay accordingly.

RM2000 basic for a fresh graduate consider underpaid? If this basic is net pay then consider is underpaid, but I still offer allowance (RM350 allowance), petrol claim (limit to RM500/month) and commission (0.4% on sales), she follow up current sales value about RM100K / month, total pay is about RM2000 + RM350 allowance + RM400 commission = RM2750/month. But,she only start to entitle for the commission after her 6 month probation, so now she already entitled for this commission. I think this package for a fresh graduate is acceptable. I still remember when I start my sales career with this company, I don't have existing customer account and start to build from ZERO la...

You shouldn't use the period of yours in yesteryears to compare with current market values. You could order a fried noodle with RM 2.5 - RM 3 within KL centres during those days. Can you do the same today?

With the inflation rates that we are having (I don't believe the govt bull statistics), it is a sheer exploitation of worker/staff/labour force where they are squeezing hard to live even within the means of every life.
If you want to attract new customers, you have make sure that the customers have extra $$ to spend on your products, especially when your products aren't staples like food/electricity/cigs/gas.

M'sians market generally see a wider gaps between the rich and the poor. More middle-class are moving towards the lower end due to the inflations and stagnation of constant pay. And we do see a lot of articles highlighting the squandering of public funds into projects like PKFZ and political campaigns and the mooting of subsidy cuts to fatten the executives and their cronies pockets. All in all, we are not moving in terms of the living standards as compared to Sing/Hong Kong and Aust. I shudder to think if the current situation persists and employers continue to press down the wages disregarding the financial welfare of the proletarians.

Previously you did not mention your allowance and commissions rate. Now that you did, I have no debate. This is a good rate for fresh grad. (at 1700 + 350 + MILEAGE + COMMISSION).

when you wrote RM2.6k as fresh graduate in bank, you are telling people that you are in UOB. The starting salary in bank is actually well known already.

Public bank = 2.8k
UOB = 2.6k
CIMB worse. CIMB Bank = 1.8-2.2k. CIMB Investment Bank = 2.5k. Most people talk about CIMB salary is very high but it is actually for MT salary only.
Heard that OCBC 2.2k or 2.6k too.

what standing are you referring to when you have nothing to prove? academic proves nothing la, try gather more experience and then we talk about the true standing. Btw, being personal banker has great potential, maximise it!

And the purpose of the comparison? Does it really matter? Fresh grads in SIngapore is getting S$4,000 in Citibank, so you decide where you stand.

comparing with other banks, 2.6k is considering as quite ok.

Not to say as high but it is averagely good.

public bank 2.8k is better but it do not differ much. quite a lot of people graduated last year still remaining at their salary after probation because quite a lot of stingy banks do not increase salary after probation. So, your 2.6k maybe higher than quite a lot of peoples' salary(of course that not comparing the salary with UOB and public bank staff salary).
