Hi everyone,

I got an iPhone 3G in July 2009. It was bought in China. I have been wanting to upgrade the software for my iPhone, but I have not updated the software to 3.0 because I was told earlier by sister, who had the first version of iPhone (2G), she tried updating the software and her iPhone ended up being locked!

So what should I do if I want to install the latest software for my iPhone? Btw, even though the phone is from China but I believe it is authentic.

FYI, it's version is 2.2 (5G77).

I have a question.

I've sync my iPhone with my old laptop. Now I have just bought a new laptop and is it possible for me to sync with the new laptop? If yes, what are the steps I shud take to make sure when i sync, the data in my iphone wont dissapear?
