Hello everyone smile.gif This is my quest to find out how I can replace my 1 month old iPhone USB cable. Already, my USB cable is tearing at both ends (Picture).

Went to the Apple Authorized Reseller store here in Sandakan. Told me they can't replace it. The seller's iPhone cable is also torn. It's not under warranty. I told them to call someone to help with the problem. First, called the shops distributor (I think). Said it wasn't under warranty. Can't/won't replace it. Next, we called the Apple customer line. Told about the torn cable. They'll help find a place to replace the cable. For iPhones bought in Malaysia, he told me to contact the company who brought the phone here, Maxis. They're the ones to go to when asking for a replacement, he said. As a last resort, I was told to file a complaint with Apple customer line if I don't get the replacement.

The shop assistant went to Maxis' site and printed out the phone number/address of the company who stocks the phones to Maxis. They didn't pick up the phone. So have to try tomorrow and see when they're able to contact the Maxis distributor people.

Who else is already having problems with their iPhone 3GS USB sync cable? smile.gif Also, is the iPhone 3GS cable under warranty or not? Or do people get replacement only if Maxis/whoever sells it, feels like replacing it?

I got my iPhone 3G S changed from the official service provider, Maxis to Celcom. After updating to 3.1.3, I didn't see the tethering option at first.

Then I went to the Network settings to change the APN for the 3G connection and noticed that there's an "Internet Tether" section at the bottom. Put in the 3G settings in the blanks then the option to turn Internet Tether on/off was available in the main Network page. Tested it out on bluetooth and USB and both working fine!

Anyone else tried it out?
