I have NO SIGNAL after updating my 3GS to 3.1.2
Even after restarting + rebooting for several times.

i really need help in it !! any one know wads the problem ?

Problem Encountered : while im not using the phone to make calls or sms , even the phone is slept or awake i still couldn't receive any call or sms from others. Until i use my phone to call or sms ,then ill receive all the miss called message n other ppls message. Meaning , my iphones signal like it will automaticly turned off or slept while im not using it to smsm or calls.
Steps Taken So Far : non .

Try to restore back. I just update mine to 3.1.2 and everything was fine.

I have a quick question. If I sell my iPhone to someone else, can that person register a new Apple ID and use with the phone? I'm just worried that the phone's serial number is always tied to my email (Apple ID).

my friend try to get warranty claim for her 2nd hand 3g iphone due to screen problem, but the maxis's staff told her that ONLY FIRST OWNER CAN MADE THE WARRANTY CLAIM !!
so, now i think she have to pay plenty of money to repair it !!
any one faced the same situation ?!

i think your friend was just given a lot of problem by the maxis staff. you should be able to claim with the warranty card & the original phone number that was registered with the iphone. what is the logic behind "ONLY FIRST OWNER CAN MADE THE WARRANTY CLAIM "?
ask your friend to make a lot of noise & complain la.. even with the warranty card , you should be able to make a claim.
otherwise, go consumer tribunal & complain make big big case la.. hehe...

This will sound wired. I got an iphone clone from the market. Claimed that
the engine from Singapore. Anyway the phone works fine but I do have trouble
in the phonebook and incoming call display. It is not our normal phone. The
incoming call did not display the caller name and I can't activate the registered
number with caller picture.

Why not you goto APple Malaysia service center to check this out.. They can easily verify fr you..

think it is lousy maxis signals. the coverage is quite poor even in urban areas. but it's better den digi.
celcom is still de best.

sure it's supported.Find in the forum the settings and reboot.The camera icon will be there

Hope 3.1.2 settle a lot of issues previously.

How was the performance of os 3.12?

WAiting for feedback before making my move to upgrade because buuk requires 3.1 to run which automatically remove from my iPhone.

I had "No Service" twice after I updated the software but I put the phone in airplane mode and when I got out of it everything was fine.

Maxis should allow you to make the claim if you've got the service card. Go to another place until U find one that will do it for u. What is wrong with her phone btw?

Is this call failed message something new after the FW 3.1.2 update or it's been something that's happening since U got the iPhone 3GS?

If it's something that's been happening since u got the iPhone 3GS, go check if your SIM card is compatible. A couple of people have reported this issue and had their SIM cards replaced and their problem was fixed

I am using OS 3.1.2 Maxis set. Using Celcom sim card and I can send mms flawlessly. Have you set your MMS setting and restart your iphone?
By the way, may I ask whether you are using postpaid 3G sim card? I got problem with 10secs call drop
