I notice dat my martensii color is more yellowish than rideon's,prolly different morph?Lol
Anyway,i'm curious about scorpion's stinging. As in the pics,my martensii struggled wiv the crix for a while b4 stung it then eat it.But some sp. just sting doesnt care about its prey size/power.Like lq,it just sting its prey 1st even the prey is just a mealworm which it can overpower very easily.
My question is,y some sp. just sting right away, some fight wiv their chela 1st b4 sting, other just crush their prey using chela(heterometrus sp. and pandinus sp.)Of course we do knw dat some wiv smaller chela are more tend to sting while on the other hand those wiv bigger and more powerful chela will just crush their prey. But y my martensii wanna give a fight 1st b4 it stings while some other sp. just sting right away?
Is it due to aggressiveness? If so then those wiv smaller/weaker chela should just sting right away cos i dun think they wan their dinner to escape, isnt it?

BTW wat i meant not applying on those which is very thin or very fat, just normal size.

If im not mistaken usually they ll try to over power their prey 1st before attempting to use their sting because it takes quite some times for them to regenerate new venom after using them
Sometimes my LQuinquestriatus will not use the sting on mealworm, thou it's not often
From my observation, most scorpling tend to sting readily compare to adult even for sp like afs
