QUOTE(fire_angel @ Jan 8 2010, 11:59 PM) I just got this scorpion and i dono what species or how dangerous it is couldnt see the pic... anyway... you can feed it with mealworm or superworm depends on size. They can stay alive without eating for months, dont worry. Just make sure you mist the container.Im afraid of crickets... i dont know what can i feed it. i didnt feed it for 3 days already. I know nothing and have no interest about scorpion. Can anyone recommend a place to sell this scorpion. Thanks in advance. |

it has a false bottom.... and the substrate is quite thick that only the surface area that dry off due to evaporation cause it is quite a big tank.... Rest assure that it is still very humid.

I dint use those tunnel tube to fill in water but if u see properly, around the water dish (the red colour thinggy), there is a bare land, only gravels but without cocofiber.... So I just pour water onto the gravels and the water will flow towards the whole bottom. There are two area with this function, another one is under the drift wood. I use big stone to prevent cocofiber from over flowing the "bare land area". I found out that this is quite convenient as i can monitor the water level through that area and tubing make my tank looks so fake....
Hmmm... ya, i m using big gravel for false bottom... Till now havent seen much cocofiber mixed with the gravels, yet... But if you wanna prevent this from happening, just mixed the gravels with smaller one so that the empty space between the bigger gravels could be filled. btw, there are more then 5 hides for them but some of them seems like to stay under 1 same roof Added on January 25, 2010, 9:49 amhere is the pic ![]() This post has been edited by *FallenAngel*: Jan 25 2010, 09:49 AM |

yeah, that is my initial idea but however couldnt really make it so i put a water dish there to replace it.
The problem is that the cocofiber are good in absorbing water, hence unless you gonna refill it everyday or you try using a shallow plate/dish or something else as the "lake" and fill it with gravels and cover the side with some moss so it looks natural... Just mt thoughts. My 1st tank turn out pretty well. I mean for the "pond" part if you have seen in previous post.... But still doesnt last long. The water dry out in 1 week time. That tank i put 1 layer of potting soil above the gravel before the cocofiber as potting soil not a strong absorbent like cocofiber. I dint get much plants this time cause kinda troublesome to switch on light for them everyday and i am gonna leave them at home when i goin to KL after CNY... |

Cant get 'em in short time... Coz now i am trapped in my hometown... Nothing much you can get...
I got some new ideas on the pond in tank setup... Still thinking should i modify the big glass tank cause it will be permanent and once done couldnt be reverse anymore... I got 1 extra tank but it would be way smaller and couldnt really present the real feeling of forest habitat with a pond... Maybe will get it done this weekend... How's your tank setup going on? |

QUOTE(rideon @ Jan 26 2010, 11:17 PM) thats cool. if i were you i would really think it many times before starting. Coz u will need to modify the tank.. Like me i have several tanks to be modified and if i dont like the size i just make my own after drawing the designs out. Hmm... Sounds so tempting... Show us pic once done! Love your idea.... My setup havent gone smoothly just yet. Coz im thinking of how to create a water supply for the adult and babies at the same time without the babies drowning in it. As you may have know, i left the 3i babies with mom so rite now i have a lousy chocolate lid as its water bowl and was planning to make something like a lake with shallow depth for the babies to go and have some sip. So im planning to make like a two 1 way area where there is a deep end and a shallow end. The shallow one will have tons of rocks so the babies can just walk on them without having the fear of drowning and the deep end is just a reservoir for the water supply. Nk senang gune one of those mini waterfall thing but then again i will b using electricity which is not in my designs. If there is a way without using any electricity to pump the water up trough a tube or somewut to make a similar effect. So.. im still researching.. using the gravitational force to my advantage.. but rite now its all in papers... Why not electricity? Do you install any lighting? Anyway, you can try those aquarium pump and modify sikit so it can be a mini water feature... Kinda cheap for those pump... Came across some at Pet Lover Centre and the size is actually quite small and cost around 15 bucks... |

what i meant is that you can use some help from your feeder mouse as when they run over a wheel, it will generates kinetic energy and then to electrical energy... Just some nonsense
