And they tend to die easily when their stinger been cut off. U could start with afs or aes 1st. Afs is much more cheaper. They seldom sting and their venom level is at lvl 1 out of 5. err, sorry, read that you started few weeks ago, what sp you currently having? IT's best not to handle the scorpions.
THERE IS ALWAYS A risk DO NOT cut off the telson. (of course it's your choice) but it's like if someone CUT OFF YOUR HAND. it helps the scorpion to hunt Added on October 21, 2009, 11:08 pmlives longer, happier lives with stingers on them (abang ryo.. be patient ah...) God bless us all... But 1st of all why wan to handle a scorpion? Treat them like goldfish where u can only view it but not handling them Some people believe cutting the stinger (Not telson) will not kill the scorp, some believe it will leave a open wound and the scorp will eventually die from it To be frank i dont really know but its the best if u dun cut it, be more humane and etiquette when dealing with pets U don't defang ur tarantula did u? Aside from that, for a AFS u dont really need to worry bout their sting, u should be kful with their pincher instead as they tend2 pinch more than stinging Dun ask god to bless us, i hope god bless ur scorp QUOTE(*FallenAngel* @ Oct 21 2009, 11:03 PM) First of all, welcome Kanineh And 2nd, for 99% sure Uncle lyo will ask you "why dun you de-ball yourself??" lol... u sure got 1 kind of afs jamesiukini.
as i know afs are the most docile types of scorpions. i have about 20 plus of them and not even 1 tried to sting me when i have to rehouse them. and about cutting the telsons off , i give u an example to put my point about cutting the telson off: "u are handsome, strong and muscular man but ur d*ick no power to erect when it matter the most. in bed" that is how a scorpion feels without its stinger. put urself in that situation and see how u feel. it is the same with the scorpion. they need the stinger not only for prey but prorecreation aka breeding. some rule of the thumb if u are really interested in keeping scorpions: feed them maintain them keep them happy dont handle them thats all. and please do research regarding your scorpions. there are alot of information regarding captive care and breeding of afs since they are a very popular species. by the way ryo. like my new avatar? They dun die immediately after losing itlester got 1 if not mistaken .... i also saw a few in real case which the pet shop selling the scorpion and provide the service that helps customer to cut off the stinger^^ I personally have my 1st AFS stinger clipped off, she live till 1year and then die off I have another friend who have a AFS with stinger clipped off, it die after a few weeks A friend have a AFS for sale with the stinger clipped off last time, was returned by the customer, it died after a few weeks Whether they die from the open wound of the sting or other reason is unsure but im leaning on the stinger Also it's not fun to clipped away the stinger, i would appreciate if u can drop off ur "^^" smiley |
