Chill, i will update a list of those abbreviations in the 1st page so ppl can check what does those mean and i ll provide a direct link for lester to add it in his siggies so whenever a newbie wanna know what does hh pt pp etc mean they can click on his sig and directly directed to the 1st page
Give me some times, i ll need2 gather all the abbreviations But that doesn't mean i permit usage of abbreviations in this thread in future About spam post etc, i do agree it's too much one liner post like "lol how come" "??????" "oppss..i must have mis read it lol ... " "nice!!! " "Ghost Town" etc Im ok with a lil chat and jokes but too much spoile my mood to reply and start a discussion in this thread Whenever i tried2 start a discussion, it ll end up with post like those, nothing to learn really This thread is much like a thread for u to share ur stuff, no learning, no discussion, nothing Hopefully after this it will change, Sam is working on an interesting article to post soon |

QUOTE(s98432512 @ Apr 11 2010, 11:13 PM) Look, this is what i meanPM function exist for a reason... Anw, one of my H. Hottentotta finally molted to adulthood @7i yesterday, but she is only 5cm when the adult size shld be 8cm I guess it's because i kept them in very small deli container till they reach 6i Interesting, i ll wait and see if she will pop or will molt to 8i in future, would be interesting experiment to study their size variation being kept in different size container PS: The other that i kept in a larger container before it molt to 6i turns out bigger than the one that molted to 6i in the small container |

No worry, kuwy
Take good care of them pls, they ll give u babies real soon Anw, imo screening a person solely base on their answer to ur question is kinda... Unreliable Anyone smart enough could just google for information and copy and paste to u Anyone can answer all the question u asked, just a click away from his/her mouse But at least u put some effort to screen ur buyer |

Though Liocheles Australasiae are often found in a group in the wild but they always end up with cannibalising if u kept communally in captive, i dunno why lol
It's a vice choice to separate them, how hot is ur room? Imo the warmer, the better, as long as not too hot lol Added on April 12, 2010, 11:09 pmU might wanna read this article bout Liocheles, written by our proud local hobbyist who is very experienced with them http://www.venomlist.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25639 This post has been edited by RyoKenzaki: Apr 12 2010, 11:09 PM |

QUOTE(kuwy86 @ Apr 13 2010, 01:33 AM) I know it's dry, but the humidity in the air will not drop till so much QUOTE(deathpion @ Apr 13 2010, 06:16 AM) This morning during my regular misting session found this. It's a 6 instar emperor scorpion which I got from Rafiq since 4th instar. What baffles me is the cause of death as it molted to 6th instar more than 2 weeks ago and was eating right. It was even seen roaming around at 2am but at 6 am the whole body was mutilated by a group of ants which normally appear when there is dead cricket. Any idea anyone on the cause???? My condolence, at 1st glance it looks like it died from cricket bites and the remain eaten by those ants but as u said, he molted more than 2weeks ago so it doesn't sound right...[attachmentid=1525479] [attachmentid=1525477] I honestly can't tell the reason of it's death, but it looks like it died from cricket bite cause the exo still looks very soft imo |

It's also possible that ur emp died from other reason and those ants came to finish it up when u found it
Things bout keeping scorp is, whenever u have a one died on u, u wont know their exact cause of death Anw, as precaution, i never leave any live food in my inverts enclosure, if they din eat i ll either kill it and leave it or take it out, just to be safe |

Well, if that is the case he should find maggots in his enclosure instead of ants isn't it?

He did mention that it is doing fine at 2am and only found it dead in 6am so that pretty much busted the theory of maggot infection

Very informative indeed, understand all of it
Here's the picture of the victim of Hemiscorpius Lepturus sting ![]() http://www.arachnodata.ch/projects.htm Anw, to make it short, upon stung by a neurotoxin scorp, there are 2 scenario which could result in death 1. Paralyses of the lung and heart tissue 2. Death cause by brain damage How about death by pneumonia? Does paralyses of the lung tissue cause pneumonia? |

I will need2 prepare a dictionary to read the 2nd link posted when i got home later
Anw while this is not very much related but i would like to highlight the different between venom and poison Venom - Being venomous is being capable of producing, storing and actively delivering toxin - For a venom to work, one will need to be injected with it (either from stinging or biting) - May not have any effect if consumed Poison - Being capable of producing and storing the toxin - It is usually not actively delivered - Harmful if consumed I know most of u already know the different, but this is to add in the knowledge for those newbie who happene to read this This post has been edited by RyoKenzaki: Apr 14 2010, 03:26 PM |
