To be frank.. i do not recommend you changing the sub to sand. As AFS are not desert type scorpion. The best way for you to get rid of those mites/springtails are to change your substrate. As Ryo have stated. Exoreptile's scorps are wild caught. So there will be mites and others on them. But dont worry to much As for the communal set up, it is ok for them to live together. I have communal set up once and i have no major problem with them. Just make sure you have enough hiding places for them and frequent food source for each scorpion. Take out the uneaten food and the leftovers so that you can control the mites problem.

Im not sure bout the orange mites, but the white color one izit kinda long? Shape like () If that so, its springtail, good mites, they are natural janitor in ur tank Get rid of the orange one if u wan by changing substate
Anw, with AFS, u wont be able to see them prey often nor wondering around the tank If u wan active scorp get urself some bark scorp

oooo ic ic......i used to change it once a month the first time i had afs, but ends up 3 of the adult afs "tok tok qiang"!!! (2 male died becoz of suspect sting from the female, and the female died when molting) so this time i got 6 babies....but is already so long n only one of them molted into 3i. hope they can grow up faster n i can be grandpa this time round. by the way.....how does bark scorpion look exactly? poisonous?

Not poisonous, venomous and all scorpions are venomous.... Bark scorp are scorp that live on trees in the wild Genus like Centruroides, Lychas, Isometrus, Rhopalurus etc are bark scorp They are more active, smaller and grow faster compare to ground dweller scorp
