I import her as a gravid adult of cause
She have given birth once which is around 7-8months ago before she reach my hand
Not really sure bout the previous batch condition but seller told me they are in 5instar already (Probably adult by now)
Btw it looks like my Hot hot cant take food although she wanted too and was hungry
(Judging by her reaction toward prey and appear to be munching it a bit but let go after awhile)
Probably she cant take anymore food for godknowwhat.jpg reason and decided to give birth and perish after that
(Hence explained the clutch of infertilized/ underdeveloped eggs?)

Btw if ur refering to sculpturatus gertschi, they are not belong to me
Ask sam tongue.gif
They are way smaller than our scultp thou, adult ady somemore

Rui, i assured u i tried every method even force feeding it with different prey
Well actually those emperor/red claw we bought are also wc specimen but they take cricket, no problem
Perhaps they prey on crix also in the wild, i dunno but my LA have no prob with mealworm b4 hmm.gif

Bout inbreeding, while most ppl say it wont hurt to inbreed ur invert for a few generation, there are more and more genetic defected offspring recently
Don't u guys think something's wrong?
Double tail scorp, upside down sling, siamese twin etc
I dunno, but it could be due to too much inbreeding?

Added on October 28, 2009, 7:34 pmArrr, just remember robc did mention that his Siamese twin parent are from two different bloodline

QUOTE(aimeh @ Oct 28 2009, 09:08 PM)
Inbreeding har .. I don't know much for the pro and cons as Kar said. But I do have a story to share. My sister used to keep hamster and as you know, rotten produce fast and lots. So, after a few in breeding, at the 4th or 5th generation, those hamster had stop giving birth or even making up. I'm actually not sure what happened but I can said that they are healthy lil hamster. Apart from that, we human also always prevent from inbreeding and there are lots of "story" to support that. lol

As for the scorpion, my female aes give birth a number of 14 sling last time which is her second birth after a year plus from the first. Those sling end up all dead due to bad molth. Personally I think that I have provide enough humidity for them and I did feed them with worms. Too bad I din take any picture of them at that time to bring up discussion more. btw, Ryo, before the scorpion go into mouthing stage, did some part of the skin turn to white?
*
Bold part:
Unlike invert, inbreeding in mammal can cause more problem, u think they are healthy because they looks physically fine but i can assure u that 4-5th generation confirm suffer from the effect of inbreeding are
The effect are:

Reduced fertility both in litter size and sperm viability
Increased genetic disorders
Fluctuating facial asymmetry
Lower birth rate
Higher infant mortality
Slower growth rate
Smaller adult size
Loss of immune system function

As u can see, most (If not all) cant be seen physically wink.gif

Btw some scorp like my Hot Hot, i do notice the exo whiten prior to molt
It's more like the old exo loosen up already, can see clearly biggrin.gif

Well, that conclude all parthenogenic sp will have difficulty to adapt to new environment,
hence the death of some of my hot hot?
But then again, we seems to forgotten that those hot hot in rafiqos hand are doing well hmm.gif

I'm not good with genetic topic as i almost fail my science lesson so pardon me if i get the wrong meaning sad.gif

PS: Nice setup issac smile.gif

It's not from me, its a quote originated from mike
Btw from what i'd read, martensii are very communal even at early instar
Guess its not a reliable source ohmy.gif
This morning before going to work i check on my liocheles and found one babies coming out at the bottom rclxms.gif

I notice dat my martensii color is more yellowish than rideon's,prolly different morph?Lol

Anyway,i'm curious about scorpion's stinging. As in the pics,my martensii struggled wiv the crix for a while b4 stung it then eat it.But some sp. just sting doesnt care about its prey size/power.Like lq,it just sting its prey 1st even the prey is just a mealworm which it can overpower very easily.

My question is,y some sp. just sting right away, some fight wiv their chela 1st b4 sting, other just crush their prey using chela(heterometrus sp. and pandinus sp.)Of course we do knw dat some wiv smaller chela are more tend to sting while on the other hand those wiv bigger and more powerful chela will just crush their prey. But y my martensii wanna give a fight 1st b4 it stings while some other sp. just sting right away?

Is it due to aggressiveness? If so then those wiv smaller/weaker chela should just sting right away cos i dun think they wan their dinner to escape, isnt it? tongue.gif
BTW wat i meant not applying on those which is very thin or very fat, just normal size. smile.gif
*
If im not mistaken usually they ll try to over power their prey 1st before attempting to use their sting because it takes quite some times for them to regenerate new venom after using them
Sometimes my LQuinquestriatus will not use the sting on mealworm, thou it's not often
From my observation, most scorpling tend to sting readily compare to adult even for sp like afs

my Lychas Scutilus gt baby again....
Who can tech me how to tk care ?
How many instar need separate?
If after separate need use tissue or coconut peat for baby?

how many instar can start feed them?
cut mealworm to feed them?
need provide water dish for baby?
need put wood let baby climb when separate?
need high humidity for baby?
keep baby scorpion is like keep tarantula slings?
thx very much for u all pro...

thx
*
I believe last time i ady taught u in detail how2 take care?
Anw, when they reach 2nd instar and started2 leave the mom, u can separate them ady
Use coco peat is better, u dun need to change the tissue often
U can start feeding around 1week after they molt to 2nd instar
(Note that newborn babies are consider 1instar, so once they molt for the 1st time they are 2instar ady)
No water dish required
They are bark scorp, so its better if u provide vertical climb for them
(Not sure if they molt upside down like most bark scorp does or not bt better to put it in)
Humidity should be the same as afs, dun over flood it thou, they can drown
Depend on which tarantula ur speaking of

Langsat.... Salute to our scorpion tikos notworthy.gif
From ur pic, it does looks like babies, i got 2 of them, i think around the same size as urs rite now biggrin.gif
They are not very common, so take good care of it
Judging from the pic, it seems like u know ur stuff and done ur research on their care sheet thumbup.gif

Btw wat solution u mean? If u cant find baby crickets u can try chopping up dead mealworm and give it to it
