Swt...he is just 14 and I hardly seen any 14 that is mature enough to do his own research(even homework also copy frm fren tongue.gif ),but we can only advice him how to take good care of scorpions, the rest is up to him to decide.
Of course if he still insist in the way he is keeping, then he should let go of the babies for better homes.
So,will he takes in advices?

the early separated one which is the 1st brood have not molt to 3i.. still fat.. but to no end.. the rest with mom on the 2nd brood hav molted to 5i.. and yet i have not separate any of them.. apart form the 2 that i sold last time.. and they all living peacefully.. no canibalism.. one group stays with mum the other made their own burrow under a wood. But the mother still kills and feed the babies.. evn to one extend this morning she killed it left it there and the babies rush out to eat it.. one got hold and the others just rush in and all hell broke loose. one prey item with 20scorpling eating it.. funny to watch them though

Nice...and I thought that the scorplings that you gave me last time isn't normal because only 1 molted to 3i while the other 1 still in 2i,LOL

QUOTE
In Iran severe complications are known from the sting of H. lepturus. Severe and fatal haemolysis, secondary renal failure, deep and necrotic ulcers, ankylosis of the joints, psychological problems and death are reported complications. A clinical study from a region in Iran shows that H. lepturus is responsible for 12 % of the reported stings, but is responsible for 95 % of the mortalities (The other dangerous scorpion in the area is Androctonus crassicauda)!

QUOTE
The LD50 value for this species is 5.81 mg/kg. This value is not particulary low, but due to the serious effects of the cytotoxic venom, this is a highly dangerous species.

All thanks to cytotoxic

A nice read
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1868827/ (Clear your mind b4 reading tongue.gif )

Question: Do scorpions' venom really cause allergies?Because if I'm not wrong I remember Mr.Mordax did say something about it in Scorpion Forum. Will try to look back the thread

mind if i ask, when a female scorpion giving birth, should the male be separate from the female or can just leave it there?
Separate is better. The male might eat the scorplings and this will stress the mother, which end up eat all her scorplings.

Heterometrus spinifer= Dark green color, smooth chela
Heterometrus swammerdami= Dark brown color, chela granulated like emperor
Heerometrus madrapatensis= Dark green/blue color, yellow leg, granulated chela

But those are just physical different, to identify them accurately u will need to look for their granulation pattern on their carapace
Each sp have different pattern

Added on May 2, 2010, 11:26 pmIf u are into reading, this is a great article about heterometrus for ya
