hey bro i thought u had exhaust system modded already? how much u got your drop in for? lol.
hmm 275-300 for open pod including heat shield and CAI ah? or just the filter only?

Added on October 11, 2009, 12:10 am
bhp vs caltex.. u'd rather go for bhp? lol. i heard caltex 95 isnt too bad too. im thinking of switching also. shell 95 really tak boleh lah. no power, no mileage -.-
*
Nope , intially thought of taking out the cat-converter and replaced with a Mid Box but then I were going to Pavillion that day and it's pretty late when I came back.
I got my drop in for three hundred bucks. The 275-300 is for drop in filter. Not really sure about open pod though , must be the same with Drop in filter but considering the cost for CAI hose and heat sheild , you'll spend extra hundred to two hundred at least.

It's recommended to get the K&N , feels so light after I changed mine. drool.gif

You could get it cheaper at the automotive garage section, below 250.

I guess they have increased their price to Rm275 onwards for Proton Waja.

Can you guys recommend me a skillful and resonable price - accessories shop to rewrap my steering ?

Guys, need your opinions. I own a 2005 Waja 4G18 (M). Have thus far done approx 115,00 KM. Have so far replaced, timing belt, all other belts, A/C Compressor, Alternator, Drive Shaft (Drive side), twice changed absorbers since the original and have for the majority been serviced with Fully Synthethic Engine Oil.

I'm feeling the engine is feeling kiknda loose of late and getting very noisy. I have identified the Radiator Fan being faulty and have deicided to change it in my next service which is just around the corner. Planning to get my timing belt replaced as well, since noticed there's been some recent slips in it while on running condition.

My question would be: There car has been very noisy of late with loads of cranking sounds. I suspect that I mite need to replace my engine mountings. The engine tho is very responsive due lack the power it once used to churn out. Do you feel my Waja would need an overhaul?

bros..

im helping my bro to choose an auto 2nd hand car. between a Black Gen2 and black/burgundy? color waja. both of the car is yr 04 and have almost the same value plus minus somewhere between 30k +++

driving wise 50% city 50% hgway.
which u recon for FC wise ? as i have a minimal experience driving those two cars..

i recon to him the black gen2 cuz looks sporty,suit his age & gud handling but dunno if there any reason that he shud choose a waja over gen2 ?

i've posted this too inside gen2 thread.. its just like, as am older brother, i felt like i need to advise him and i dun want my bro to gamble on 2nd hand car. yet, i have minimal experience in driving waja or gen2. he is 24, get wedd next year, and purchasing new car is still expensive.. its better to get decent 1.6 2nd hand four door than entry level saga with the same market price..

Could those lost of power and noisy sound due to the Fully Synthetic oil you using ? I heard that 4G18 is not really that suitable to use thin oils.

I have no experience with Gen 2 , but if you belive Campro engine , then go ahead else just advise your brother to get Proton Waja with the Mitsubishi engine. I have been running 150k+ mileage without any major problem. Only changed timing belt once at 90k , both fan ( air con and radiator ) and power steering pump.

When getting an used car from car dealer , remember bring your mechanic along or drive to your mechanic to have a look whether the car is worth buying or not. smile.gif

for me,i will advicing him on the technical part rather than other thing...buying 2ndhand car need lots of attention..the condition of the car..resale value..maintenance,things u need to do once u get the car and everything..the practicality of the car/ proposed of usage n etc...did he own a car b4?humm..

i got 1 tips...every car got manual book...from there u can trace the previous owner...at the manual book/service book,it will hv information such as the service record and old owner contact number..simple,from there u can get the number n try to call them..from my experience the previous owner will tell u anything about his ex-car....let say u oledi choose between tht 2 car..try to check the history of the car...from the owner..but remember..sumetimes the seller/used car will keep the service book...the honest seller will let u to check the car background...easier...

if you want something less problematic, go get the 2004 waja 4g18p. older campro in gen2 tend to be unstable. sometimes, either auto rev or refuse to rev in certain condition sweat.gif
campro is a high rev engine in nature, thus you need to rev it to higher range to get the best out of the engine. while waja 4g18 is suitable for city driving due to the availability of more torque under 3k rpm. if am not mistaken, my waja auto run at 125km/h at slightly under 3k rpm.
as for the FC, most of the waja 4g18p auto owner easily get close to 600km on full tank of ron97. mine return roughly close to 525km on full tank in city driving.
of course, gen2 does look more sporty but space and comfort goes to waja!
bear in mind, buying a 2nd hand car is some sort of a gamble where you may end up with suspension/ abs, tyre, atf / engine oil / belts / bush / battery or even air-con and power steering replacement / service overdue.
bring along someone who is familiar with car for test drive. check if there is a knocking sound from inside the engine, squeaking sound when going over speed bump / cornering, check the tyre for uneven thread wear, straight line braking, no leaking, minimal engine / tranny jerking......and the list goes on.... smile.gif

i got a problem with my fuel pump, actually its not the problem of fuel pump itself but the wiring, temporarily using direct connection, with the original wiring went kaput, based on mechanic suggestion, he suggest me to change the whole one set of fuel pump... do i really need to change it? any suggestion?

500 km for HALF a tank? i dont think thats really possible. i think u meant full tank 500 km is it? cos thats what i can get on the average. the capacity of the fuel tank for waja is 50 litres.

Just wanted you to know that for Waja, the relation between the gauge needle and the actual fuel remaining inside the tank are:

4/4 (F) -> 100%
3/4 ->50%
2/4 ->25%
1/4->10%

p/s: its not linear.

for cps of coz...mine is auto too...

i can answer ur doubts there....

original we have a 2" inner diameter piping.2.2" for outer..which is for 1.6cc car..is big.even civic 2.0 doesnt require 2"

usually those under power bcoz they din change the full set...hotbitz is 1.8" diameter frm extrator out..if connected to 2" piping...with original bullet...and aftermaket exhaust system...of coz mismatch......yes.u feel different during lower end rev..but high end rev..is faster.....u can try my car..i dun mind let u test if u1...b4 u install it...but mine car is heavy la...dynamat+ICE+17"+etc...hahahhah
