A lot of users reported that 6.5 is much better, smoother and already quite stable. Interface and programs slightly different.

But personally, I'm still sticking to 6.1 till 6.5 stables down (stable down as in ROM don't release like every 2 to 3 week once). I want to wait till the ROM to be stabled down and has less updates before I upgrade. I am not in hurry

if u r upgrading firmware using the Samsung NPS, u won't have any choices to select for a winmo 6.1 upgrade.
straightaway u'll be directed to the winmo6.5 upgrade.

i updated at least 3sets of omnia2 up to date using NPS...yea..it takes hell of a long time to download..i let the pc on over the night...it'll be ready the next  morning..hehe

leave it there without kacau the pc..if u keep looking at it...u'll feel the long wait...

Are you sure u want to upgrade to android froyo for your omnia2? it needs patience using it, i mean real patience. The battery consumption like hell (100% will last u 6-8 hours normal usage for browsing 3 hours), phone freeze 4-5 times a day, phone hang 2-3 day once (need to take out battery), phone reception fluctuates sometime no reception at all (not so frequent) . The most annoying is that the dialer lag and freeze quite frequent. Making call is a nightmare. When u press call, it take you 10 second to dial, incoming call will take you 2-3 second  for the caller id to appear. 

As for omnia 2, the rom is not big enough for all the application to run at the same time. Sometime, my memory only left 20M. Thats why the phone frequently freeze. You gonna have to delete all installed application in your winmo to save memory. I'm using whatsapp, yahoo mail pop up, gmail pop up, android face book and deleted viber as its making dialer even worse.
