Not now. My wife just start using the phone, suddenly i go change her UI, sure kena wan...lol.

Anyway, i've uninstall the SPB 3.5, but the problem is, the bottom right shortcut which is previously 'PhoneBook' still appears as 'SPBHOME' and when i click it it gives an error message...rclxub.gif.....finally, i've to do a factory reset....and re-sync back all the contacts from the PC....

Frankly, this is my first experience with Win Mobile....can't say i like it.....i still think my Nokia 5800 Symbian OS much more user friendly despite not having so many fancy eye candy.

btw, how do i make the OMNIA II rotates?? It seems only to rotate in SMS screen...other screens cannot? Symbian OS does a much better job at this really...
Having a vertical screen for QWERTY key-ing in sucks.....

Is there somewhere to set this so that it will rotate to landscape whenever i turn it?

I wouldnt say that winmo interface is all eye candy. i prefer to call it functionality because its possible for different users to customize the information they want to see or the shortcuts they want on the main page. yes, symbian is easier to use, but the user interface on the icons menu is still a bit weird because you cant flick thru it, you have to use a scrollbar or drag the icons down to get to other icons.

what other screens u mean?

really oh man , i thought since it is Samsung offical retail , I get a good price from them.

Damn...

well at least the future buyers know , where not to go to buy it .... DO NOT BUY FROM THE SAMSUNG SHOP IN THE SUNWAY PYRAMID Opposite the Jusco , i think second floor , blue corridor.

but I still love my Omnia II , it is really nice , the best phone I ever had ....

cannot get GPS maps on it , I can install garmin no problem , but the maps don't work Haihzz... any tips ??

anyone where should I refer to ?? I already went to MalSing Map site and read their Wiki ,it didn't help..
*
It's in the same concourse as the harvey norman, i think. beside the escalator.

if u install the garmin app only, it wont work, u have to install the base map and support files as well.

May i ask, where did you get this firmware and from which country? Is it compatible with local sets?? Still nothing on official Samsung website ler.
*
all these firmware are from the modaco.com site, its not official.
it's compatible with all sets, just that some local functions such as language might be missing.

this version is IJ3 by panateo. Not a bad version, better than IJ1 by Secany, but Secany gonna upload IJ5 soon.

Do read more urself here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...anys-i8000-rom/

The laggy is mostly due to Samsung widgets. IMO, it is best use SPB Shell 3.5 instead of Samsung's UI, to truly maximise the speed of this phone. All your lag will be gone and it's a hell lot more customisable. My wife prefer to stick to the Samsung's UI though... blink.gif

I don't find the 65K color an issue, since i don't watch videos on mobiles anyway. It still looks  better than my Nokia 5800 with 16 million colors.
*
so, samsung's lag issue is bcos of the TouchWiz UI?
if i disable it and use default winmo 6.5 UI or SPB, it will be OK?

any apps that lag?
