just a question, lets say that i successfully downloaded the file but it cant update.then i go into compatibility mode.do i have to download the whole file again? even if its the same file? can i update it by selecting the saved file in our computer? i do not want to go through that process again.slow internet really sucks. oh ya, what percent of the download did it get stuck on??
*
about 36-38%. if you want to download do it after midnight. much more faster. i don't know about vista, because i still use xp. but i think you download the file first and chose whether to run the executable in compatibilty mode. to be on the safe side, i suggest for you to save the installation file to a removable disk before installation.

*

QUOTE(DarkAce @ Nov 19 2009, 12:35 AM)
thanks, btw, you guys take how long to download the update?
*
mine about ten minutes.

I updated my NPS to 1.4 but after updating, it couldn't recognize my phone. I tried bluetooth, couldn't connect because Omnia II is on WinMo. I'm using W7 as my OS. I've set the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP3. Don't know what I'm doing wrong since ActiveSYNC is working fine.
*
Try opening ActiveSync on your device, then click menu - connections - and check the 'synchronize all PCs using this connection' checkbox. And choose USB. I think in Vista they use Windows Mobile Device Center not ActiveSync. I'm not sure about this. Windows 7, I don't know.

Added on November 20, 2009, 3:43 pmis it a way to check what is the network usage? afraid will exceed the monthly allowance and be charged a bomb by maxis
*
try this on your device:

1.Start-Settings-General Settings-USB Connection: Make sure you select the ActiveSyn function.
2.Open ActiveSync on your device click Menu-Connections : make sure to select Synchronize all PCs using this connection

Try and reconnect .

As for the internet. you can either connect through bluetooth or USB.
for the settings , just click Start-InternetSharing

Good Luck.

when composing sms, turn to landscape, it doesn't autorotate.

Is it normal?

I am using IJ9 firmware version.
When I was on Winmo 6.1, SMS does auto rotate.
*
mine is also IJ9, and it did auto rotate when turned it to landscape when writing sms.

as i know now omnia 2 comes with win 6.5 already. u need get brightstar distributor set. all samsung is 12 months warranty only.
to really confirm can call samsung help center no.

Added on December 3, 2009, 12:28 ami have try out windows 6.5. really looks good..as for current owner can try upgrade using samsung website. www.samsungmobile.com.my

anyway if free can sent to service centre located at the federal highway. my friend upgrade it yesterday..
*
From what I know, you can extend the warranty to 18 month for FMG set if you register online at the samsung website. you don't need the shop to do it for you. But not for brightstar, Brightstar will only get 12 mths warranty. I think that is why Brighstar sets are more cheaper. Both Brightstar and FMG are official Samsung distributors in Malaysia.

Done more testing tonight. Installed back some apps, restotred previous backup b4 firmware update, configured the home WIFI, and transfer files to/from using the Sync/File Manager using the USB connection multiple times. No problem at all.  thumbup.gif
*
yeah, i don't find the lag problem after SYNCing too but when set as USB storage. I never experienced this situation with winmo 6.1. Also I found out that the battery will became noticeably hot when charging via data cable and used as USB storage. But when charging with the connection set to ActiveSync the phone didn't feel hot. At least not as fast as USB Storage connection

Help! I've setup to e-mail account on the Omnia ii, 1 is an Outlook (not working due to incomplete settings) and 1 is a Hotmail account. However, it always tries to connect to 3G/GPRS when try to send/receive e-mail even when WIFI is available!

I tried to delete these accounts but the 'DELETE' function is dim and i can't delete it!

Anybody has an answer??? Can soft reset solve this? How to do the soft-reset again? I can't find back the steps... cry.gif

HEEEELLLPP!!
*
OR you can set the mail to be retrieved manually. or you can go to setting-memory setting-clear memory. this step will revert your phone to default setting and delete all your data.

To set the schedule. Click start-email-'select the email account'. Then click menu-options-'click the hotmail account on the account tab and you should see the {send/receive schedule} option. Click it and set to manual. hope this will help smile.gif

Hi guys how is the battery life on this? How often do you charge on average?
*
well, battery's life depends on several factors ( including the chosen cpu performance, backlight, 3g usage, wifi usage,.....). Mainly, I use mine to sync with exchange server, several hours of wifi, listening about two hours of music everyday. with the cpu performance set to auto and backlight turned off i need to charge my battery in between 1.5 or 2 days. If you use 3g broadband it will drain your battery much more faster
