@ Andrew

Can you provide the link for the sense thingy? I've been using SPB mobile shell before and I failed in customizing it.

Also,

I just bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/Hard-Back-Cover-Case-f...=item45f090bdb2 for my Omnia II.

Actually its very easy to flash the Omnia II.

There are a few parts to flash but usually they come in a package. So all you have to do is point to the files and flash.

The 800MHz is not the GPU, it is the CPU. Yes it is fast but the original touchwiz isn't that optimized yet. If you are looking for a smoother UI, you can either go back to WinMo's original or you can always try other 3rd party softwares (e.g. SPB Mobile Shell).

Haha I must haveve misread it sleep.gif'

Anyways since the Omnia II is still very new, there are limited choice of softwares that can fully utilize the hardware. But I believe we are getting there.

I believe since you read modaco there are some serious developments on softwares.

So in short, the only flaw I found for the Omnia II is the software. But a lot of people are putting their effort in to develop better softwares for the phone. And it really feels good to know that Samsung themselves are always improving their firmwares.

S2U2 have some compatibility problem with OmniaII right now. I am still waiting for the fix.

Until then, I'm sticking to Winmo's original lockscreen. Try to search modaco for the customized versions. IMHO, good enough to replace S2U2.

Here are my collections of Omnia II's casings. Excuse the out of focus and the mess.

From left, Epik case, Pdair and capdase.

and the case currently on my omnia is this :

Personal opinions:

-Epik case vs Capdase: Epikcase fits better with the phone, thicker and also provides better grip. The only thing is I don't really like the colour/pattern. Maybe this will be improved in the future version.

-PDAir: the skin is too soft to my liking. And since it is more like rubber, the skin tends to 'stick' inside my pants pocket. And the fitting isn't really nice.

-The hard case: My favourite case so far. Though it doesn't cover the whole phone like the others, I do think it is enough. Makes the phone feel slimmer when compared to other cases. The rubber texture is just nice on my hands. One downside though, the rubber coating seems to wear out fast.

Price:
-Epikcase: RM20
-Capdase: RM49 - with free screen protector
-PDAir : RM 55
-Hard case: RM29

Currently, these are the only non-leather case I found. Will look into leather cases soon. Thinking about Melcko or capdase. I don't like the cheap leather cases. haha.

Ya, the price is ridiculous. Also its hard to find ready stocks for it haha.

Well, the point of getting a case is to get the rid the need of using any pouch =P

Welcome WA300.

I flashed my phone with the latest ROM from secany yesterday. I got to admit that everything runs faster.

I opted for Samsung today cause it is sufficient for my daily use and faster in this ROM. Not to mention that it is free!

GPS performs flawlessly, touch player seems OK as I didn't have the chance yet to test it using earphones.

Just got myself another casing for my Omnia II.

It was a bit overpriced but it is hard to find this type of case in Malaysia.

http://www.vivacases.com/brand/samsung/omn...g-omnia-ii.html

I'd say this is the best so far I've found for the phone. I've been looking into leather cases including Melcko. Though its leather is very good, the phone will be bulky.

This case(Viva) really have everything I would want for a case. If you guys read my previous post about my cases collection, you will know about the hard case I loved before I found this one.

The case is less bulkier than other leather case. Have textured carbon fiber look. Red coloured inside, really matches our Omnia II. Fits perfectly with the phone which makes it looks smarter and tidier. Easy access to all buttons. Also, a hole for our camera(this is important and only found in flip down cases - not sure about book type cases)

Priced at RM99 and can't even bargain anymore. I just grabbed it since I can't find this else where.
