Garmin is better. Agis only comes along with SG set i rmb.
u want speed trap style, go for mapking...
u'll get annoyed when it keeps on shouting "Slow down!" biggrin.gif
*
Eh, AGIS only in SG set? Mine has an FMG warranty sticker inside the phone.
Unless FMG initially brought in SG set... hmm.gif

I usually mute my GPS. Sometimes get annoyed by the "Turn left in 50 metres....turn left....turn left...recalculating"... tongue.gif

Garmin i dunno how to install...
too many details (wtf!!) on google,
plus the procedures are...#$#@$#@$
just say i am quite stupid for tat...

actually looking at papago...looks nice...
*
Garmin can be "quite tricky to install" but once it has been installed its way better than the others (so far for Malaysia and Singapore) as there is an active online community constantly updating the maps in Garmin format (Malsingmaps)
Papago is nice too, just that I can't find updated maps for it.

Try wiping out all storage and do hard reset method 2. It will restore the phone to actual factory default. You will lose all data though. I suspect its due to some files left in "My Storage" affecting the phone's performance.

Papago works with malfreemaps..google for it.it's free and updated frequently/
that day i read in papers saying that bluetooth devices might be prohibited to use during driving..not sure if that willl be implemented.
if it is implemented, i think GPS device will be prohibited as well.
Syabas JPJ! sweat.gif
*
Cool! I didn't know that. Time to play around with it.... rolleyes.gif
Sigh, I heard about the bluetooth stuff too. There were some countries that tried to ban bluetooth devices but failed due to public outcry. Cross fingers and hope it will be the same here. If they do ban it, then newer cars with built-in bluetooth functions on the car stereo (e.g. newer Kia, BMW etc.) will be prohibited, which will be silly... blink.gif

EDIT: I checked Papago. Not suitable for me. I have to use Malsingmaps as it is more detailed for rural areas. Malfreemaps is not as detailed as Malsingmaps and Malsingmaps only frequently updates in Garmin format.

QUOTE(lhongwuh @ Mar 31 2010, 05:13 PM)
tried both before. sucks~ sweat.gif
coz very troublesome to open up n closing it back.
it makes the phone hyper bulky and might cause the edges torn unless u go for high end leather pouch that cost Rm1xx-2xx.
*
Yup, I bought 2 cheap flip casings for RM15 each from eBay, white and black. They are quite slim and protects the phone well but did not last long for more than a month, the plastic holder broke...
Then I went all out and got a Melkco flip-up twin colour leather casing (RM90, super bulky) and a Noreve flip leather (super sleek but nearly RM300. It's really worth it though)

Flash your CSC which supports Chinese characters. Look for either HK, Taiwan or custom Singapore (XSO) CSCs in Modaco forum.

smells nice doesn't mean it's hygienic leh biggrin.gif
it's like don't bath n keep spraying perfume/applying deodorant...aiks~ doh.gif
*
Well, the main purpose of mink oil is to have a protective layer on top the leather to condition it as well as preventing dirt and grime from adhering to it. So if you do it weekly from the time you got the casing, it should stay clean. If it does get too dirty, then use leather cleaner. Sometimes, it just makes me wonder why don't I just get a plastic casing...hehe sweat.gif

O.o Maybe I am a little outdated on that info.....

EDIT: No wonder, it was discovered yesterday by NewForce. If that is the case, then I am not sure on the latest firmware for Malaysia.

things need to know need to learn and need to read...
very tiredsome it can be~~
well, my advice, if u really into learn WinMo...instead of using the phone to play games/apps
then this is a good choice

if u want a phone that can have many apps, games, this and tat, the should got iphone...

cos u never own a smartphone, just my 2 cents for you to know~
+1000! How true. To simplify it, WinMo is a geek phone.
Geek in a good way, of course. smile.gif

iPhone is a flashy gadget with out of the box experience and that's all it is. Good for those who does not want too much hassle though.

@wanttobuylaptop

Just hit the "hang up" key once. It's like "Show Desktop". To focus on the app again, go to either task manager or task switcher and re-select the app to foreground.

I dont see a reason why not? Pretty slick tool.. and even with your data connections are disabled, you still can send / receive mms. Been using it for almost a year.
*
Yup, had that same problem too. I had accidentally set my phone to check my mailbox every few hours. Bill went all the way to my max allowable limit and then got locked... sad.gif

NoData works as mentioned. Install the app, run it and then disable the access point in the list except MMS. By doing that, you will still be able to receive/send MMS as what moxshax has mentioned.

Yes, NoData from Modaco. There is only one NoData. BTW, I have already mentioned it on my previous post, which you have just quoted it. smile.gif

Hi everyone. Pls add me in the list. Need some advice.

When I use the Opera browser to scroll a page left and right and around, it takes one second for the page to appear from the checkered background left and right. Is this normal if it has a fast processor?

Also, I noticed only Opera 9.5 can do landscape mode when you turn the phone sideways?

How come the IE cannot do landscape mode when I turn the phone sideways?

Thank you everybody for any help

Is this normal?
*
This is normal. This is because Opera 9.5 did not preload the contents for that location so when you slide to that position, Opera has to load it. Now there's Opera 10, which has a lot of improvements over 9.5

IE does not support autorotate on some firmwares.

can omnia II use touch flo 3d or not ?
*
Yes, it can run TF3D. I am now using TouchFLO 3D 2.0.
It can also run Sense 2.1 and 2.5 but very sluggish unless you overclock your phone.
If you want to test it out, you can try TouchFLO 3D 1.3 though. It is not as difficult to install when compared to TF3D 2.0 and the only difference between the two is that 2.0 has a calendar tab.

hi just.. just want you'll opinion.. what is the best keyboard you'll using for your O2?

currently im using Touchpal and also Swype..

I am using Swype 3.9 (taken from HD2) and EzInput 2.1. If I want to type other than English, I use EzInput. For English, it's Swype. Perfect combination for me.. biggrin.gif
I use EzInput because it has arrow keys. With big fingers like me it's difficult to tap to a word to correct a typo.

QUOTE(gerrardling @ Apr 6 2010, 02:50 PM)

Yes. This applies to either stock firmwares or custom firmwares with cube installed.

Hi all sifu here,

I have a problem: when i wanted to switch it on by pressing the right side button, the phone did not respond no matter how i press it and then i had to take out the battery, put it back and then switch it on again. I have this problem 2 times since I bought it in Feb.

Just wondering whether this is normal for omnia 2? or just my phone is weird.  hmm.gif
*
Was your phone already switched off or was it on sleep mode before you tried pressing the power key? If it was on sleep mode, you phone software crashed. Usually it is caused by a program. Which one? That you need to find out. If not, a hard reset would cure it. If it was already off before you tried to hold the power key, something's not right.

Anyway, either way is not a good sign for your phone.

Go to Opera's website. It will guide you to install Opera Mobile 10 on your phone.
http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/

Can't exactly remember which firmware does not support auto rotation for IE but I do know that its from the earlier IJ firmwares.

Main Storage contains both Samsung OEM apps and core Windows files. This explains why almost half of it is reserved. The remaining space is for your own files.

*
You need to modify the registry setting to enable front camera.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Camera]
"SupportFrontCamera"=dword:00000001

Details on how to modify your registry can be found in Modaco or XDA-Developers forums.

Hi, may I know the price of omnia 2 pro?
What is the different between omnia 2.
to compare omnia 2 with other phone like HTC which are the best one?
thx whom comment this question...
*
I think you mean Omnia Pro. Omnia II and Omnia Pro have almost identical hardware. The only main difference is that Omnia Pro has a QWERTY keyboard, a LED indicator for notifications, built-in stylus slot and a smaller AMOLED screen. Omnia II has a 3.7 inch screen whereas Omnia Pro only has a 3.5 inch.

As what chteh0721 mentioned, there is no such thing as ' the best phone '. It all depends on which phone suits you best.

Hi guys, can we flash our beloved O2 with the new windows phone 7?
*
As of today, it is impossible:-

1. Windows Phone 7 has very different system requirements.
2. Even if you manage to port the core OS over, there is no vendor driver support. Therefore, most of the peripherals (e.g. WiFi, BT, Radio etc.) will not work.
3. IF there is a community willing to re-write all Omnia II i8000 drivers for Windows Phone 7, then it MIGHT be posssible. Chances are very slim though as it is a very tedious task and does not provide much benefits other than pleasing hardcore O2 fans.

IMO, our O2 will stay with WM 6.5.x OS and if successful, Android too.

I am using the Capdase PowerMount 2.1
http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid...&mid=6&pid=8147
Got it last Sept for RM100.

The build quality is excellent but it is required to either modify the USB charger section (short USB pins 2 and 3. This tells the O2 to enable charging mode) or the cable in order for the O2 to start charging, which is expected.
