oh .. ok .. maybe you can consider to add as one of the con ..
*
I never feel this is con as this is English firmware mainly for Europe country, if they put in Chinese input then it may became con for them.

Some more I all the time using TouchPal to SMS, it is the best (for me) compared with Samsung default, PlumSIM and etc.

Guys...i have another problem now with SPB 3.5....doh.gif

In the left Homescreen, there was a nice big widget that shows many weather info by default. I've accidentally removed that widget and can't find it again. There's only a small widget that shows the detail when you press it, but the default widget shows many info in a medium sized box.

How to get it back?? rclxub.gif
*
Press and hold the widget and then choose "Change Skin" to select others layout.

Reply your previous question:

- Samsung Widget Plus is Today Plugin while SPB 3.5 is standalone. Means you can run both without issue.

Thanks!  doh.gif I thought 'Change Skin' is to change background color/picture, so never bother to press it!

AS for the Samsung Widget Plus, what i meant is , is there a way to drag those widget into SPB homescreen?
*
Nope.

Just play around every single part of it, you may find somethings you want. This is what I always do when installing any new thing in phone.

No harm testing.

just wondering, is there any way to update the phone firmware or version without flashing the phone? my phone is really slow and I wanna update it but keeping the warranty..mine is a sg set though..

also, everytime i send an sms, there will send me a notice saying sms is sent..that is kinda annoying as my sms ringtone will ring again..kinda annoying..how to turn that off? i already disable the delivery report thingie but it still comes out.. sad.gif
*
1st question answer is - NO

Delivery report can't be turn off. Unless you revert back to original WM style but the MMS function will be disable.

Another solution is flash to WM 6.5 (the notification won't appear if you send via threaded, it still appear if sending new SMS)

What is your firmware version. The messenger interface has great improvement on since IK? firmware. The best is under IL2 firmware.

Go download the cab file below to install the google map.

Hi all, got myself Omnia II yesterday after ditching my 3-week old Jet. I was really disappointed with Jet's very limited organizer function, so I brought it back to the Lowyat shop where I bought it & traded in for Omnia II. Lucky my phone was still in showroom condition, & I lost RM200 in the process. But my Omnia is still using WinMo 6.1. I heard Samsung MY is offering free upgrades to WinMo 6.5, is it true ? Can I just walk in to Berjaya Times Square & get the upgrade ? Will the process take long ? Thanks in advance.

BTW, mod, pls add me to the owners list thank U.  rclxms.gif

Now you still get WM 6.1 ah.... Last month I help my friend purchase (at singapore la) already preloaded with WM 6.5 (the box also is WM 6.5 box already)

Everywhere in the world is offering free upgrade for OMNIA II from WM 6.1 to WM 6.5

You can updates by your own as well.

More information below:

is the cab file a complete file for setting up the google map, or do i need to download the map separately? sorry for asking this question.

if so, what google map is most suitable? please guide me.

thank you.
*
Google Map don't have map and can't download. All google map is online base, which means you need data services or WiFi to operated.

For pre-install map application, I suggest using Garmin XT.

thanks andrewtst for the feedback.
my firm ware version as the following, is there any newer (and more stable off course!) firmware available?
I8000NXXIJ9
I8000XSOIJ2
I8000DXIJ1

to add on, apart from the samsung wedget lagging, the rest are good, camera is good, viewing the video and picture were superb due to the amoled screen. radio is good too. battery life was just great, normal use with less wifi can last me for 3 days.

thus far, i am very happy with this phone, just hope that it doesn't broke down easily..

rgds,

- Phonobook "Favorites" working properly now, the favorites remain even after phonebook exit.
- Overall seems smoother than IL5 ROM. The best WM 6.5 ROM so far.
- Slightly design change in Samsung Widget Plus Today, you can tab the page number to change screen.
- New battery power remaining screen.
- New color highlight in incoming message. (If I not mistaken, last time no bright yellow highlight as well in text)
- No bugs or issues face yet at the moment beside the reseverd RAM still as many as previous IL5 ROM.
- Fastest GPS satellites acquired.
- Fastest WiFi connection.

** Highly recommended to flash, if you still using official J9, is time to change. smile.gif

NPS from Samsung can do that for you
*
Another option is you may use the Microsoft MyPhone and sync all your contact, SMS and etc to their server. (you need Windows Live ID or Hotmail ID).

I tested before and it was able to successfull sync back after I upgrade to others ROM.

- Base on I8000NXXJA1 ROM release by Secany.
- Join with PDA 6.5.5 build 23518 cooked by Khuanchai.
- Great WiFi, GPS & Phone signal. (JA1 is the best ROM in signal I ever use)
- Smooth and responsive.
- Integrated with Office Mobile 2010. (Outlook 2010 got exit issue, I not using outlook, so is ok for me)
- Showcase pre-install. (A great replacement of Samsung Task Switcher)
- Some default icons has been modified and use .png as icons.
- Swype keyboard install separately (not include in the ROM) - too addicted to it already. He! He!
- Vertical and Horizontal scrollbar has been hide (set value to 0) due to incompatibility of Samsung Dialer with WM 6.5.5 ROM.

** Thanks a lot to Secany & Khuanchai to make this dream happen. smile.gif

andrewtst,
very interesting upgrades.. i am tempting to upgrade it too. but how do we revert back to the original state if we do not like it, or if the upgrade was fail? need to send back to the service center?

does the upgrade increase the responsiveness of the sms trade? the current sasmsung sms trade was hopeless, very slow and lagging.

rgds,
*
Reflash the ROM to revert back.

More information at http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...ai-eng-version/

SMS trade done by Samsung still similar, but others area is much more smoother. (SMS trade need to install separately as original Samsung SMS-MMS and phonebook is remove.)

Andrew, if install I8000NXXJA1 ROM will it void warranty ? Possible factory restore if wanna claim warranty ?
*
Maybe, or you just flash back Singapore version of J9, available at modaco.

No factory restore, just only can reflash back to recent factory firmware: J9.
