QUOTE(Lineage @ Apr 21 2010, 10:19 AM) The problem is the Omnia 2 only use internal 8GB..lol..Have to back up the PIMBackup file to PC..and then later have to install back PIMBackup.. PIMBackup does not require installation. You can just run the .exe then choose restore instead of backup which is the default.Yea, after backup to your internal storage, then copy the PimBackup.exe and the backup image to your PC. Well, as I know, Hard reset does not wipe your internal storage but only device ROM. well, just make a backup to your PC as safety. |

QUOTE(Lineage @ Apr 21 2010, 10:36 AM) Oh..ok..because I'm using HTC Touch HD..so far no problem for me..because I'm using cooked ROM.. Omnia II Hard ResetMy friend is not tech savvy..suggest the wrong phone to him..now he stored around 1k SMS..keep lagging and need to wait very long only can read/reply SMS..he quite fed up.. Can I know how to do hard reset on Omnia 2? IJ9 ROM will have this problem? or my friend's Omnia 2 got problem? 1. Turn OFF the phone; 2. Press VolumeUp and Lock buttons (do not release); 3. Press Call/Green and then HangUp/Red (do not release all buttons); 4. Phone should Vibrate and turn on; 5. Count to 3 and release all buttons; You will have a choice to FORMAT or CANCEL the operation. for PIMBackup, try not to backup speed dials as it will screw up your contacts. IJ9 is not smooth, I am using JD1 now so far so good. fast response. |

I flashed so many times, I still able to claim my warranty for my phone. my LCD got line so have to replace whole LCD.Just flashed it back to IJ9 stock rom before sent it to repair. When I get my omnia flashed to JD1, octans seems to hard to detect my phone, so i changed to other slot.
when i click start downloading, octans said disconnected then reconnect my phone again. Hope there is no damage done to my phone. Finger crossed. QUOTE(Lineage @ Apr 21 2010, 11:24 AM) ya I would. But sometimes really lazy to do all the 'reformating' 'restoring'. ahaha When doing all those ROM flashing, you might get worried what might happen. Windows mobile really not recommended for faint heart people. Added on April 21, 2010, 11:43 am QUOTE(wanttobuylaptop @ Apr 21 2010, 11:21 AM) i downloaded from sg site one.. O, then I not quite sure, I took 2 days to update my phone back then for IJ9. so much trouble.both nps and kies nps show the firmware is latest.... and kies cannot update my device... QUOTE(kb2005 @ Apr 21 2010, 03:59 PM) Finally solved my chinese mp3 file name problem. Just for sharing in case you need it. My OMNIA flashed using europe ROMs still can view chinese and type chinese.http://www.pspmyspace.com/omnia/2009/01/vi...-file-name.html Viewing Chinese Font File Name Many users who uses Window Mobile 6(WM6) English Version were unable to view Chinese Font File Name or Chinese Characters on their Omnia. If yours is a WM6 bought in Singapore, the Omnia allow you to view both English and Chinese at the same time. Singapore Omnia sets is special as Singapore is a bilingual country. Other Omnia sets sold elsewhere may not allowed you to view Chinese Characters on English WM6 set. You need to install a Chinese Software on your WM6 if you want to view Chinese on your Omnia. Download Kaidi sunfon chinese font>>> There is something you must take note which is not to transfer file name with chinese characters using Active Syn. If you have done that, it will appear as weird characters on your Omnia. Go to Setting, Connections, USB connection Mode set to Mass Storage. Copy the files from the computer to your Omnia 16GB which is now seen as a removable drive on your computer. After copying, you will be able to view chinese fonts on your file name. If you like to copy to the main memory, use the file manager provided on the Omnia or other third party applications like Resco. some chinese song title does not appear correctly might be the song data is not in unicode but in special formating that only taiwan or china supports. You can edit the song data at your pc and then copy to your phone again? I have a few japanese song rip from CD. japanese title and my WM has no problem displaying it. Only songs i downloaded from net has problem displaying characters. |
