How to make your OMNIA II run smoothly
* Goto Sound Setting - Touch Alert, and set Alert to None (this speed up a lot when no vibrate or sound enable) * Goto General Settings - Power - Performance and select CPU Performance as High * Goto Display and Light - Items on Today and deselect Samsung WidgetPlus. |

QUOTE(littlediana @ Oct 12 2009, 12:49 AM) well.. noted... Welcome yes i sounded unhappy... i am unhappy... just asking only... ya i like the watever word noted ur comment/advice... regards, littlediana From your previous post, you mention unable to decide whether to get OMNIA II, Pixon 12 or Satio, below is my comment of this 3 phones: OMNIA II - If you love WM, love customize, love torture phone (just kidding..haha) then this is a good choice, it not over price like HTC but came with great spec. Camera only 5 Mega but the quality still not bad. Previously I use Ultra Touch, and I keep thinking back how good the 8mega in Ultra Touch which this OMNIA II no way to fight with it. But, the story is different now, the quality of the photo is improved a lot after updates to I800XXIJ1 firmware. Pixon 12 - The best photo quality at the moment, I seen the sample from review site before, the photo quality is brilliant. No phone in the market can fight yet, include Satio. The reason I not change my OMNIA II to Pixon 12 because I am bored with dedicated OS which no customize, add-in applications. I easy feel bored. If you only concern is snap photo and needs only a normal phone, this might be a good choice for you. Satio - I not really recommended this phone, it is over price, too expensive, the 12 mega pixel is not so good as well. (from review site sample), and Symbian S60 v5 is the most failure touch tech. (I know a lot people will shout me back) but I just dislike Symbian S60 v5. (I believe Nokia notice about it also, that why Nokia developed Maemo) One more thing, I hate certificate issue in Symbian. |

PointUI - PointSense is Alive Back! New Version 2.0.1.1 is ROCK!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Comment on latest PointUI - PointSense v2.0.1.1 - No more crash in OMNIA II - Can install at My Storage (recommended even startup will take longer a bit compare with install at Main Memory) - Lastly can added as many pages as you like. I got 8 pages now, (in previous version, more than 4 pages will crash your phone) - More widget add-on (working SMS, Email & Media Player) More informations at PointUI-PointSense PointUI Link: http://downloads.pointui.com/public/home2/....Pro.Latest.cab PointSense Link: http://rapidshare.com/files/291665668/Home2.rar Installation Instruction Link: http://community.pointui.com/topic/suite-v...v2-make-it-mine This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 12 2009, 08:24 PM |

QUOTE(r59150 @ Oct 12 2009, 04:50 AM) QUOTE(whann @ Oct 12 2009, 08:59 AM) Andrewtst, any laggy part with pointsense? I really prefer their UI then SPB but just worry many malfunction area & lag. For stability, SPB always win. PointUI still in beta stage, overall is smooth except when you clicking on quick launch and My Application, it will take about 3 to 4 seconds delay when closing down. The unstable issue seems came from PointSense also not the PointUI.But this version is so far the most stable I try, at least it is in working condition. QUOTE(binqo89 @ Oct 12 2009, 10:22 AM) haha tried change theme after that background. Unfortunately only the item on today and menu background changed. Forgot to ask, you using WM 6.5 or WM 6.1Can u list down the step how u change it if u are free. cause i guess maybe either theme or background or some other options have to change accordingly? btw i still have problem on the sms sorting. is it fixed that the old message will be at the top? i hate the sms list keep on scroll down whenever a delivery report or a new message received. If WM 6.1 then the you need to change it at Display and Light inside. (Sorry I forgot the actual path already, I am using WM 6.5 now) Added on October 12, 2009, 1:58 pm QUOTE(Pliskin @ Oct 12 2009, 01:56 PM) Wow! the PointUI - PointSense screenshots rock man! Yes, as long is WM phone.was rilli fiddling with the idea of getting a WinMo phone...this just gives it another + point! hahaha! say, anything that works in Omnia II can also work in Omnia Pro 7610 rite? coz i more into the qwerty keypad thingy...:-) This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 12 2009, 01:58 PM |

QUOTE(jyhk_junk @ Oct 12 2009, 06:36 PM) Hi Andrewtst and test rest the power consumption for these 3 setting? Sorry I never test battery usage, I work infront PC everyday and I often plugin my phone, means I not really knew what the power consumption.Have you all tested on: 1. Default WinMO 6.1 or 6.5 Today Screen 2. SPB Shell 3.x 3. PointUI Reason I ask is I tested using SPB Shell 3.1 (on WinMO 6.1) and it use up my phone battery within a day it drop to about 70-60% (Remain) Note: Usage patten - Seldom Turn ON, only received call about 1 time perday or one SMS per-day, only turn on once in a while to look at the screen and off back... But if use either Default or Samsung WidgetUI it can remain about 90% for whole day or more. That just my quick observation, anybody experience about the same thing? please share your experience ... Thanks... |

QUOTE(Omnian @ Oct 12 2009, 07:53 PM) I think he is mention the sorting at SMS threaded part (Only available in WM 6.5 firmware) and they is no options to sorting at threaded part.Added on October 12, 2009, 8:19 pm QUOTE(binqo89 @ Oct 12 2009, 08:12 PM) But for sort outside threaded part, yes, you can sort by Received (Default), Message Type, Subject and Sender.I notice you can't click on sort by and also can't change the lock screen wallpaper, possibility your firmware got problem? How about try to re-flash or hard reset. (remember those step will erase everythings) This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 12 2009, 08:23 PM |

New English version Firmware is out! I8000XXIJ3 is base on newer WM 6.5 build 21863.5.0.67
![]() ![]() Pros: - Overall seems smoother. - WiFi, GPRS, MMS all working. - Application Store is back but not working in my locale. (May already appear in previous version, due to I select EE which not included) - The logo show correctly when not connecting to internet. - New program call "Rich Internet" - Copy contact from SIM to Phone is Speedy now! - Add files in Samsung Media Player is faster now! - The WiFi continue ON even plugin to PC (not working on previous IJ1 version) Cons - Still RAM eater, doubt temporary at the moment not much changer already. - Windows Default - Today plugin keep showing as London, Dublin nor-matter how I set the clock. ** Fix below **On back the Samsung Widget Plus and then pull out the dual clock setting, and change the 1st clock which is London to your locale. Done! Link: Part1 - http://rapidshare.com/files/292006374/XXIJ3.7z.001 Part 2 - http://rapidshare.com/files/292007240/XXIJ3.7z.002 Password: Modaco Please use 7zip to unzip。 No mirror please, requested by the owner: Panateo. *** Overall I recommended this IJ3 than previous IJ1, it is more speedy and stable. Attached with 2 photos taken using I8000XXIJ3 firmware. Now is really late already, so temporary only have 2 indoor photos. More will come shortly (maybe tomorrow): ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 14 2009, 02:34 AM |

![]() Latest WM 6.5 rom is out again. This time is IJ6. This ROM is highly recommended! The best ROM so far for OMNIA II. I8000XXIJ6 - Language: English - Windows Mobile 6.5 http://rapidshare.com/files/292598295/i8000XXIJ6.zip.001 http://rapidshare.com/files/292605631/i8000XXIJ6.zip.002 http://rapidshare.com/files/292612819/i8000XXIJ6.zip.003 http://rapidshare.com/files/292619139/i8000XXIJ6.zip.004 http://rapidshare.com/files/292624760/i8000XXIJ6.zip.005 http://rapidshare.com/files/292627972/i8000XXIJ6.zip.006 Pros: - Fast WiFi detect and Connect. - GPS point detection is fast and great! I get 4 bar in my area which last time I only get 2 bar. - New icon for email and sms (actually not new la, it is just a default WM 6.5 icon) - Interface is smooth everywhere. - Can auto rotate during SMS, Email, Microsoft Office product, Opera, Media Player and Photo Browser - Boot Up is fast - WiFi firmware is newer than IJ3 (IJ6 is 1.2.3.0 while IJ3 is 1.2.2.6) - Ringtone issue solved, it is gentle now. (not like all previous version too soft then suddently loud) Cons: - NA (Can't find any yet, maybe as usual program RAM is too little even closing down the Samsung Widget Plus, less than 100MB) This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 18 2009, 12:33 AM |
