Guys, do you suggest me to buy Dvico or standalone BD player to play HD movies and sound?? There is a comparative difference between digital format stored in hard disk and optical disc like bluray disc rite?

Those formats uses compression to reduce the size of the files from Blu-ray original copies and store it in another format. There are various formats used.

How much compression used will determine the quality. Also the sound is mostly reduced from HD Audio to normal DD/DTS sound.

If you want the full quality, then it needs to be ripped to M2TS format  but the size of the file will be huge.

Yeah, I want to make comparison between M2TS fully ripped & BD format. How much difference can you notice in terms of AQ & PQ?

Oh da Oppo BDP, must resist from getting closer to it................ nod.gif

Visited da shop n end up another hole in pocket. Landed myself another QED Sub Y split adapter which push my sub to the limit, HA.

Now un-decided to get HD media player or standalone BD player to light up the TrueHD magical words in my Denon Receiver!

sigma better than realtek mah.. for PQ. for AQ, 6500 can bitstream all the HD audio, 6600.. dun know.. realtek and do DTSHD but problem with True-HD..
*
So, ar188, do u mean the video performance of 6500a using old sigma chip can out-perform 6600 realtek chip? The latter also face problem with Dolby True-HD??

SO conclusion.....

What if it is an upgrade from wdtv to 6500? Is the huge price difference justifiable?

Also the WDTV couldn't light up Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD words on the AVR.  tongue.gif

That's the main issue that tempted me to switch !!! Do u think the HD Audios play thru 6500 is a night & day improvement over the core audio??

What if it is compared to standalone BD player?

In conclusion, Realtek 1283 chipset Media Player still cannot passthru HD Lossless sound?
*
According to local distributor, it should be just a matter of time before the bit-streaming of HD Audio can be solved. This feature is considered one of the Dvico strength and I 'm pretty sure the Company would not want to miss that just because of adopting another chipset. It also claims 6600 is supposed to have most or if not all, the functionality of the 6500a.......

I will be waiting patiently for them to solve this issue before seriously consider tongue.gif

serious contender requires it to be below rm 700 mark..
selling twice as much as competitor having similar functions how to sell?  days of 1k media players are long gone (except dune/C200 generation of hybrid BD-media players)
*
You mean Dvico is over-priced? Frankly speaking I have this thought too that nowadays even the much cheaper one can passthrough HD audio & slowly they can too play BD.ISO. But ppl still buy and treat it like premium product...can you explain?
