he is talking bout something cylindrical.. D

just to add... i found that DVico 6500a can play most BDMV without prob.. no region locked issues and i found it cool since i got prob with those Reg B locked when using HTPC.. need to change region setting.. biggrin.gif

I believe they have merged the BD-Lite and the Regular version into one. I just installed the 1.4.22 Regular and it plays the BD copies as well.
*
i think so... ever since the 1.14.xx firmware.. tested both 1.14.25 & 1.14.19 (BDLiTe) with ROTF BDMV... plays flawlessly.. AQ/PQ thumbup.gif the surround sound way better than when i play with HPTC... bitstream, i like thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

but of course my htpc can't bitstream.. tongue.gif

Thx for the link.. Just realized I was actually using this Firmware 99.3.126 and it was perfect. Now I wonder why I went ahead to upgrade it.

Its ok to go back to an earlier firmware release right? Oh and does it matter if we set our Dvico's to PAL or NTSC?

Thx!
*
wah that one was one of the earliest BDLITE version... biggrin.gif

it is ok to revert to the old ones... i alwiz do that... biggrin.gif

for PAL / NTSC... doesn't matter... i think most displays support both rite... if not just remember to turn on auto switch PAL/NTSC then...

Hey Zerorules, what is your luminance settings? I noticed that when I set mine to 0-255, then the movie becomes too dark.

Thx!
*
i use 16-235 .... IMHO better in terms of black levels.. following fren advise to avoid color banding.. last time i use full range...

That's the main issue that tempted me to switch !!! Do u think the HD Audios play thru 6500 is a night & day improvement over the core audio??

What if it is compared to standalone BD player?
*
In term of AQ ur AVR wud do all the processing if u Bitstream... sud be the same,, biggrin.gif

LFE definitely more tighter.. IMO the surround and vocal are much clearer than the core audio..thumbup.gif

for PQ IIRC correctly Anfieldude did comment on DVico does not mess up the colors as the previous WDTV..

Maybe Dvico has info panel infront that makes it easier to sell above 1k mark. Not much 1283 chipset media player in market.

Dah tgk kat umah my big bro my house still using the old firmware

Anyway i got PS3 to play by BD bought from amazon hehe

Just to take note that AC Ryan cannot handle DTS HD and True HD it only downmix them to normal DTS that's why it's cheap so DviCo still won
*
later compare Bitstream with LPCM... u'll be amazed... smile.gif

since i never use the network features in Dvico...the new firmware in term of BD playback still the same... unless they manage to make the Dvico support BDJ or BDISO.. that wud be cool..

watch your ROTF BD? gila best LFE... thumbup.gif

i have nothing against realtek based player...n yup i'm sigma supporter.. biggrin.gif Sigma still wins in term of capability so far if we take into account Dune n C200 support for BDISO.. realtek is the new kid on the block... so let it mature first.. IMO the future is not so far away.. soon it would eventually comes in par with Sigma biggrin.gif
