随着RTD1283方案新品的上市，各大论坛对Sigma Designs和Realtek两个芯片厂家对比讨论更加激烈，当然那里也不乏厂家代表的忽悠，误导消费者做出错误消费选择。那么，今天我们就来爆料一下这两家主流芯片的“潜规则”。

RTD1073和SMP8635音质对比
音质方面，SMP8635支持DTS-HD源码输出，其它解码音质也领先于RTD1073，有次世代功放的在乎音质的毫无疑问会选择SMP8635，对音源要求不高的或没有次世代功放可以选择RTD1073。但是Realtek最新出品RTD1283芯片的出现改变了这一现状，它能很好的支持次世代音频，不过现在市场上使用RTD1283芯片的播放机还偏少。

画质方面，RTD1073方案的产品虽说也都打出1080p的大旗，但实际一些低端产品只能到720p。如果需要使用超大高清投影观看，那么会发现RTD1073的1080p比SMP8635的1080p逊色不少。所以SMP8635更实用于高画质的要求，并建议在家庭影院的方案中使用。

在网络支持方面，虽然RTD1073和SMP8635都支持网络功能，支持BT下载。但由于SMP8635软硬件的原因基本上在国内产品BT下载很难实现。RTD1073相对软件方面设置简单，硬件上也有良好的支持，BT下载可以很好的实现。但Realtek在网络方面的优势不仅于此，新的RTD1283芯片还支持流行的WiFi网络，直接支持YouTube在内的大型视频网站，支持主流媒体的RSS功能。相信丰富的的网络应用也会成为用户选择Realtek的重要原因。

对于文件格式的支持方面，RTD1073有绝对优势，SMP8635毫无优势可言，因为RTD1073支持RMVB、RM，如果你必须要看RMVB，那么绝对要选择RTD1073方案。毕竟有些网上下载的很多资源还是使用RMVB格式，高清播放器必备的功能也不能少。

在DTS解码方面，RTD1073的芯片产品基本都支持DTS软解码。而SMP8635虽然也具备软解DTS能力，但是并不是采用SMP8635的产品都支持DTS软解码，大家购买时要特别注意，不同品牌型号会有不同，如果买了SMP8635的产品没有软解DTS能力，还要自己购买解码器，就不划算了。RTD1073和RTD1283用途工艺对比

RTD1073和RTD1283虽师出同门，但是他们却是为不同用途而准备的。RTD1073定位于播放器，而RTD1283定位于硬盘式的录像机，如果仅从播放效果来看，二者没什么区别。从芯片的制作工艺来看，RTD1283采用了更先进的工艺，RTD1283是BGA封装的，而RTD1073不是。

Realtek RTD1073方案的最大瓶颈就是散热问题，高热量带来的是稳定性和可靠性也随之降低；再一个问题就是固件，就目前来看，台湾的Realtek并没有如同美国的SIGMA那样对客户开放源代码，这样RTD1073里面的BUG，还需要Realtek自己慢慢解决。

DivX与Realtek签订下一代DivX Plus高清技术许可协议

[Limitations & Known issues of current firmware Rev 1.8.5]
[Player part]
- You cannot hear the sound or pass-thru of DOLBY TRUE-HD audio embedded transport stream yet.
- MKV chapter function is not stable on some MKV files. (This problem will be fixed soon)
- If you playback video after trying to playback the unsupported audio (APE/ WMA lossless), you may experience rebooting.
- Some jukebox title contains VC1 codec may cause problem during MENU and TITLE switching. (This will be fixed shortly)
- Preview mode playback of jukebox ISO files may cause problem. (This will be disabled shortly)
- Skip duration selection is not implemented yet (This will be fixed shortly)

[PVR part]
- French HD channels may be stopped sometimes during live playback.
- Switching channels may cause problem on some New Zealand channels.
- Dual recording will stop on ATSC if recording time is more than 2 hours each. (DVB-T is O.K.)

[Network part]
- If you have problem to get the I.P. address of wireless AP, please use WEP 64bit mode or WPA mode.
- YOU-TUBE is not supported at this moment. It will be fixed shortly.

新的TViX 3600会带有USB 3.0接口

We already mentioned the upcoming Tvix 3600 in our interview with Dvico. The release of this product is currently delayed and not all of its tech specs are known, or even decided yet. However, we do know that it'll be built around a Realtek 1283 chip, probably the 'Plus' version that's compatible with HD audio. We also know that the manufacturer plans on integrating USB 3.0 and eSATA connections. The first test models should be released to journalists sometime this June.

Two other new Dvico media centres are scheduled for release before the end of the year. Although it's still too early to have any word on their spec, we do already know that one will use the new Realtek RTD1085 chip (not due before October) and the other will use the Sigma Designs SMP8656 (due in September).
