Hmm sorry to ask a noob question here (didn't follow this thread)... Im deciding over 5800 and 5530, and i see u all talking about the video codec in 5800. I see 5800 cannot play video in 640x360 (full reso) well?

And.. I played 5800 before and it's fine, but i would like kinetic scrolling in 5530, better touch screen, better processor and the new homescreen. Just a small question, anyone played 5530 in hand? How's the feeling compared with 5800? is the screen VERY small compared with 5800? I haven't try the 5530 yet... and is it responsive? video playback ok?

If can i would like a comparison thanks =)
(if my request is not welcomed then... forget me cry.gif)

Who said? I've been encoding 720p and 1080p video and to 640x360 and they works fine!

What makes 5530 better touch screen? No GPS is sucks. End of discussion.

O.o i see... thanks

Erm sorry for asking *video codec* question again... I dunno where to ask this.

I converted some videos using mediacoder, the settings are:
MP4 XVid, 768 kbps, 640x360 resolution, 128kbps mp3

But no matter what type of video i play in my tube (be it a performance show or a anime) the video will lag after a period playing it. Not only one video, it's every video. It will lag somehow and if i pause it and continue playing it's be ok, but after a few moments it lags again.

Anyway to solve this? Or is there other settings/converter which can convert high quality but lagless video? So far mediacoder converts to a good quality but it lags... even in lower bitrate.

Thx in advance.

I guess this could not be fixed. I also this problem. But it's not that annoying so I just leave it aside.
Besides mediacoder I use Xilisoft video converter ultimate (shareware) to encode to MPEG4, which works flawlessly and less skipping problems but you'll have to live with bigger file size. I tried H.264 numerous times using Xilisoft. Not working.

Well u can also try SUPER, but I don't like it.  laugh.gif
*
No choice then... have to live with it sad.gif I thought this tube wouldn't have problems like my previous n73 but >.<

BTW i also bought my tubey frm e_trade_pj XD

im using xilisoft too..maybe you have set frame rate same as source file. I tried converting new flash forward drama las week with this setting and it plays without skipping or lagging..for lagging maybe the video got low bitrate..

so far i dun have any success playing any rm or rmvb format.lags like hell  doh.gif

anyone here have success hardsubbing the rm/rmvb files?
*
I don't get it, so what video bitrate should I use for conversion? 800kbps? I just want a decent quality video playing on my tube (no need perfect quality but if can then better) WITHOUT any lagging/skipping/stuck.

hey guys I downloaded xilisoft video converter ultimate (shareware) and tried with the conversion, but i dunno how to stretch the video... The original video is in 4:3 and i wan to stretch it to 16:9, but i typed 16:9 in the aspect ratio there it's still not stretched... Please help me bro XD

QUOTE(xphr3ak @ Oct 9 2009, 11:20 AM)
I used to convert videos to H.264 with MediaCodec. No lagg with subtitles.

Mind sharing the complete settings? I converted into H.264 but my tube can't play it.

Here's to the continuation of other days Video encoding settings. tongue.gif

I finally got similar quality playback without using MPEG4 encoding. But I don't use H.264 AVC which is what YouTube videos are encoded. What I used is XVID codec which is found in most .avi containers except I used it with .mp4

My source is a Youtube HD video 40mb@ 3min.

1) Best quality/file size ratio  - Xvid(MP4), 640x360, 768kbps (above 512 - 1000kbps will work) [20mb]
2) Best quality/original file size ratio  - MPEG4(MP4) 640x360, 1200kbps [30mb]
3) Smallest size/reasonable quality - H264(MP4)/RV40(RMVB), 352x200, 512kbps [18mb]

Option (1) is best.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Used MediaCoder Freeware.
*
I was using both options (1) and (2) but my tube will still lag while playing video once in a while (for a 5 min video, about 3~4 times lag for a few secs, wait to let it to return normal or pause then play again).

I use Xilisoft converter ultimate, under the recommended settings by a forumer here (forgot name) the quality is good and fast conversion, but once in a bluemoon (5 min video will lag for once or twice) it still lags. Any other solution? Or is this 5800's own problem/known bug?

Nope, there's only ONE video in my 5800, only 0.5gb total used memory...
Maybe it's v30 firmware's prob, i not yet upgrade to v31 since here dun have stable connection for NSU... now at home ady, i will upgrade later, after that i will tell the result here. sorry >.<

LilSebJr, can you tell me what settings and what converter u use for conversion? thx...

And btw, my microSD memorycard is DAMN tight, i can't eject it out. i pushed it and the spring ejects it outwards, but it's stuck in there, cannot pull out.. >.< using brute force also cannot eh...

Just updated to v31 firmware but most of my previous converted videos are still having some lagging problem. they just lags for ONE second and then continue playing like normal but it kinda pisses me off...

I am going to soft reset and try again... Haiz

MediaCoder preset with subtitle.

Hmm this is h264 one... too LQ for my preference tongue.gif

Any sifu can play 1200 and above bitrate video in the tube smoothly without any single lag? (not even stuck for a second)
Hmm i can play 3000kbps video in my tube but it will stuck for a second (like the condition i mentioned b4)... so far not yet found a perfect setting yet...

it all about frame rate setting..
ok bro, imagine a video with 23 fps. then you convert to mp4 with 25fps for example. with that setting, there will be more blank frame to add hence skipping occurs..i tried before. now even 800kbps bitrate gave by xphr3ak, i managed to watch the video without skipping. biggrin.gif

btw, i saw mediacoder much better than xilisoft.lol..even subtitle also set the delay.besides xilisoft kenot hardsub rm format (this 1 myb relate to my codec). ok change 2 mediacoder. its free btw  cool2.gif
*
Hmm im converting to the original fps... btw is 1200kbps or 1500kbps too high for our tube so there's lag there?
i wan very high quality but it seems my tube cannot cope with it..
Actually it can play almost 99% smoothly even with high bitrate but the 1% lagging time (it lags for 1 sec only then back to normal) kinda pisses me off... Im sort of a perfectionist sad.gif

wah even 1% oso kenot tolerate ka..spend some time la to tweak the codec setting on converter..hehe.and during convert, try to close other programs since  they can interrupt your processor to work. just my 2cent to share.
*
I tried with many converters and bitrate combinations already, high quality just wont play smoothly. Hey i deleted the original tutorial videos in 5800, but i heard they are converted into 2000kbps+ and can play smoothly, anyone know how to convert to that?

The most reliable and HQ settings for me are basically just MPEG4 1200kbps - 1500kbps.
It looks good. But I tried using 2000kbps for a HD sourced MV. it looks awesome with few delays 1/2 only. But I don't recommend it just because the size is huge. 58mb for a 4 min video. tongue.gif
*
actually im also converting SNSD HD videos... tried with a crazy 3300kbps, wonderful HD experience rclxms.gif
But of course got lag for 2 or 3 times...
You use mediacoder right? XVid and aac? the xVid settings need to alter?

Hey guys... my video problem is solved. I found out...

...

NOT VIDEO PROB!
it's the theme problem =.= The pizero "Mystic lite" theme lags my whole system (now only notice) and when i use the default theme i can play 1500kbps video smoothly without a single lag/skip. Thanks for anyone who answered my questions patiently, finally no prob le rclxms.gif
