I just realized that the roads on map mode doesn't align too well with the satellite pictures in satellite mode.

I thought 10 cents per 10 kb means that you are only charged that amount if you ever get to it.
Say you downloaded 15 kb, you're only charged 10 cents because you haven't reached the next 10kb. So 10 locks worth say 5 kb each means you're only charged 50 cents. COrrect me if I'm wrong though. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Sep 17 2009, 02:05 PM |

QUOTE(nullting @ Sep 17 2009, 09:03 PM) when starting the app opera mini 5, it didnt ask about what connection to use.. It's automatically connected to my home router whenever i use it.if i'm at a wifi spot, will it automatically connect to the wifi??really afraid will use data charges... But it could be that the router(or any Wi-Fi) connection is set to the highest priority so it is connected to that before looking elsewhere. QUOTE(Daniel90 @ Sep 17 2009, 11:03 PM) Some performance enhancements and a very-very-very minor visual update to the virtual alphanumeric keypad. However, I can see marked improvements in handwriting. I can write faster with less errors. Still got a few minor bugs but I haven't done handwriting training to it yet. Also the images and videos gallery isn't as cluttered. Now video and image files are sorted by type automatically it seems. Some claimed improvements in audio quality through the 3.5mm output, even me. But it could be a placebo effect though. QUOTE(vandechrome @ Sep 18 2009, 12:12 AM) AAC is the easiest to decode by the phone. As to which one is superior, AAC or MP3(both at high bitrates), the debate rages on. But for better battery life go for AAC as it requires less out of the phone to produce sound. I went for MP3 as it is easier to share. Come to think about it, I think I should try AAC, or the superior one, what is t? eAAC+, AAC+?? This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Sep 18 2009, 12:41 AM |

Yeah I think I'll convert it to that. I'll get smaller files and probabaly better battery life as opposed to 320kbps MP3s.

QUOTE(vandechrome @ Sep 18 2009, 01:05 AM) It is but that depends on the bitrate.AAC encoded at lower bit rates surpass MP3s of the same low bit rate everytime(I heard this myself), and these have pretty much the same size as the equivalent MP3. So you decide. Also low bitrates improve batt life. So if you have 128kbps MP3 all this while, then an AAC with lower bitrate would be best. Saves space and some processing power. Well, not exactly.
A rough rule is that at bitrates where an MP3 fails(usually 128 and under), the AAC prevails. I'm not sure how a 96kbps AAC would compare to a 128 MP3, but that AAC should be quite close. Also depends one encoders used as well. This post has been edited by tunertoobe: Sep 18 2009, 04:16 AM |

QUOTE(wewa25 @ Sep 27 2009, 03:21 AM) haih...where are the 5800 navigation edition (NE) codes??? zzzz can't wait to flash to NE version... ^^ free lifetime turn-by-turn navigation..lolz QUOTE(Aishiteru^Suki @ Sep 27 2009, 05:59 AM) How are we suppose to get our hands on NE codes when NE itself is yet to be released to the market???? Or that the FW is somewhat different and unique to that phone only. In other words, we can't have the lifetime voice navigation.Or, it's an exclusive subscription, with special codes or whatever that can only be purchased with the phone. Can we get the stand separately now?
Is Nokia selling the stand? I kinda like it. It lets me use the phone as an interface whenever I plug it into an external speaker, kinda cool. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 28 2009, 11:15 PM) It should - the website states "the best sound quality" as a project goal. Shame about the no Playlist / EQ policy though, I'm not enough a audiomaniac to give up those. They probably didn't want any colouring and would like FLACs to stay neutral.I hope you have a good pair of 'phones/cans or plugs to go with that, though I'd reckon (again) anyone game enough to play FLACs should at least be borderline audiophilic... What 'phones/plugs are you using anyhow? Chicaman in particular is having a great time pairing the 5800 with the Head-Direct RE0 (which I'm not trying yet, simply because of my bass-craze - hence the Quads, SP1 and PR2)... I should get myself a more sensitive IEM. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Sep 28 2009, 11:28 PM) Trust me, good plugs can even make our funny sounding 5800 sound musical... I never thought that I'd ever be able to stand my Fate-Tan on flat EQ myself, until I got the SP1. Now it's not that bad... In Sabah very very very limited and poor choice. Now personally EQing +2 on the lowest end, and -1 on the mids just to suit my slightly bass heavy tastes. Not touching anything else though. According to Chicaman, it's even more wonderful (to his more balanced ears) on the RE0... I'll have to wait till I get lucky enough to go on a holiday somewhere else where I can get a decent IEM. Hey, I just found out that FolderPlay plays gapless. I'll try out that claim. Holy crap is it just me or that folderplay gives more volume?
