Previously I asked how to turn off the red light while taking videos/pics. Someone posted an RMP file. How to use this RMP file?

I'm using the older version, the one that came with the stylus. Love the stylus, can type very fast. But, after 2 months, the top left and right edge of my phone is not glossy anymore, I think too much friction with the case whenever I put it into my pants pocket.

How much is the new version?

I thought 10 cents per 10 kb means that you are only charged that amount if you ever get to it.
Say you downloaded 15 kb, you're only charged 10 cents because you haven't reached the next 10kb.

So 10 locks worth say 5 kb each means you're only charged 50 cents.

COrrect me if I'm wrong though.
*
1 sen per kb, in 10kb charging blocks.

1 kb = 10 sen
5 kb = 10 sen
10 kb = 10 sen
11 kb = 20 sen

It's like calls with 30 second blocks. If you call for 31 seconds, surely you get charged for 60 seconds?

EDIT - this is for Digi

I wonder how much...1kb for RM10?? Click click click a few times and gone pokai liao...sweat.gif I think if we are using in forein country, better just buy a prepaid and use locally if for extended period.
*
Ask your telco ler, why live with fear and uncertainty? It's definitely less than RM1 per lock. I've tried it, just don't know which entry is which, got 10 sen, 37 sen, etc.

Some of my pictures in gallery keep getting corrupted and showing the message "Unable to display image" with a broken image icon. Even when I replace the picture with a backup from PC, after a few hours it gets corrupted again. Any reason and solutions?

I have corrupted images and videos as well. They were taken with the phone. Memory card problem? The card is Nokia class 6.

Ok, my Class 6 memory card loses files and I can't copy out files sometimes becos it's corrupted. Time to format and at the same time make a clean start again. Would this work:

1) connect to PC Suite via USB
2) backup via PC Suite
3) format card using Windows Explorer
4) format card using phone
5) soft format using *#7370#
6) restore using PC Suite
7) re-install fav apps

Any utilities to check if the memory card is hopeless and I should get a new one?

Off-topic.. Leadership does not necessarily require technical and high educational background to succeed.. there are lots of high educated people leading this world nowadays and look what the world is turning into??? Leadership is all about being able to influence others and to help you achieve your goals and good leadership is to achieve goals that are entrusted to you by your followers for the betterment of everyone.

Well.. I dont wanna say im siding whatever party coz for me i see bad long-term outcomes in both parties. You can never stay on top for too long.. Corruptions will pollute you. As a quote from Batman, "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain"..

Back to the topic..

How bout try to help ourselves by signing the petition below. Maybe its utterly useless but its worth a try..

Educated or not, somehow leaders in Malaysia don't seem too interested in the 'betterment of everyone' part.

[b[Anyway to synchronize my exist phone contact to this tube?[/b]

If your old phone is an S60 phone, you can use the Switch app in 5800 to transfer stuff from your old phone. Contacts, SMS, calendar, etc.

Does any taikors know if there is a reliable ebook reader for the tube? i have an ebook in pdf format but i can't seem to find any app which can open it. Have gone through page 1 and tried looking around but still no luck so far.

Any recommendations is appreciated.

ps, pls add me to the red team  thumbup.gif

Well, if you have PDF, you have to use Adobe Reader. It'll cost you, though, and alternate versions are hard to find.

You may wanna give ZXReader a look. It reads text files and works fine, and it's free.

I'm currently using MobiReader. It's not free and it reads its proprietary PRC format. Good news is that the S60V3 version works fine (just don't switch to fullscreen) and there are tons of PRC ebooks out there.
Bad news is that MobiReader has been bought over by Amazon and development has stopped so it's probably a dead-end app.

Hope this helps!

Sad to hear that for an XM series phone, their audio processor is kinda weak, even the ipod audio processor isnt so good also. Well i guess a reasonable earphones < 100 will be good enough to get the job done cause the provided 1 is not in-ear kind which is kinda noisy if u listen it while walking at the street.

i like Folderplay but it doesn't have equaliser settings sad.gif

Lineout is louder for me too. Level 1 (0 is silence) is already very loud.

QUOTE(elvman @ Sep 29 2009, 10:46 PM)
my friend teach me this trick on how to get faster i-GPS(without aGPS)lock...
i've tried it twice already and its get locking under 1min...
not sure if this 100% working or not.. maybe more ppl can try this and feedback...

The logic as he explain it:-
AGPS actualy send the coordinate of the base station and the satelite use the base location to try locking your set within the base station radius... so what he ask me todo is to enter the starting coordinate in garmin where you are...

Example... If you go from point A to reach point B and turn off garmin. The initial location is set to B.
So if you gone to C and try to i-gps... the initial satel will look 4 u in point B thats why sometimes it need to wait long before it rediscover you in C...

Ok... here's the step:-
1: goto where to go -> Position -> enter the position coordinates..
2: goto setting -> System -> Remote GPS -> GPS Info -> New Location -> OK

i've tested it at my house location coordinate where i retrieve it from the My Location menu....

note the usual weather condition & no. of hovering satellite still play a major factor....

so.. try it out and see it works for you or not..... as previously it was impossible 4 me to get i-gps even at home during a clear by sky time...

let us know your result ya....
*
How do we know what coordinates to use for new location C?

Guys...do you charge your Nokia phone with other chargers other than the one that comes with it? I mean older Nokia chargers. Is it safe? I noticed the voltage and Amp ratings is slighlty different on the chargers...sweat.gif

What about those cheap stand alone RM20 chargers from China? Safe to use? Won't kill ur batteries??
*
What do you mean by safe? It surely won't explode.

I charge my phone with original old chargers of varying output power. Those with very low output takes few hours to charge fully.

Shouldn't all these Garmin posts be moved to the Garmin section? This is 5800 thread after all... and the Garmin posts are applicable to GarminXT on all supported phones...

the gps thread is for all model discussion
here we discuss about garmin on 5800

Are you joking? Most of the Garmin questions here are like, "what is AGPS?", "how much AGPS costs?", "how to update map?", etc which are non-5800 specific. No wonder this thread moves so fast.

If the GPS thread is for all model discussion, then why are we discussion about Garmin on 5800 here? You're contradicting yourself.

Not that I know of, but a tip: create a group for each of your most called/SMSed contacts. When you call or SMS that person, just go to Group and select him smile.gif helluva lot faster than searching in the contact list.

Universal Battery Tips

*Follow the laptop battery rules: Your phone's lithium-ion battery benefits from the same best battery practices for a laptop. If your battery is new and decent enough, don't keep it plugged in all the time, or it dies the death of a thousand tiny discharges. Use the battery almost all the way when you use it, charge it when it needs it, and, if necessary, let it completely run down and recharge it every so often to refresh its own sense of longevity.

Doesn't the charger stop when the battery is full? As soon as the battery level drops a little bit, the charger kicks in again? How does it dies the death of a thousand tiny discharges?

let it completely run down and recharge it every so often to refresh its own sense of longevity - memory effect? Lithium-ion batteries have no memory effect, yes?
