u can always do backups u know.. the backup feature in file manager can cover settings, contacts, messages, calendar entries, bookmarks and files, so whenever you reset your phone whether its hard or soft you can always get backs your files, provided you don't format your memory card beforehand laa.. smile.gif smile.gif

Did u thick "files"??? and AFAIK the backup features cover the data in the phone only.. so all the data in mmc are not within its jurisdiction tongue.gif so make sure u backup the mmc data through other means also before u wipe that out.. and the hard reset feature does not wipe out the mmc data..

but say all your apps are in the memory card. if u hard reset wun all the links (in the app menu) for ur apps disappears and return to default ? do we need to relink them 1 by 1 ? or if u backup the phone memory ... that wud automatically appear after the restore ?

Ok, my Class 6 memory card loses files and I can't copy out files sometimes becos it's corrupted. Time to format and at the same time make a clean start again. Would this work:

1) connect to PC Suite via USB
2) backup via PC Suite
3) format card using Windows Explorer
4) format card using phone
5) soft format using *#7370#
6) restore using PC Suite
7) re-install fav apps

Any utilities to check if the memory card is hopeless and I should get a new one?

Always remember when u install certain application some files are stored in phone memory. If you want both to appear correctly u need restore phone and memory card together.

Its recommended you to do the same backup at least twice to prevent any corruption of data.
